Baby head measurements smaller at 31 week scan

I had my 31 week scan today and was told about reduced growth velocity for the head circumference (HC) and biparietal diameter (BPD). Other measurements were ok but the head measurements are in 3rd centile. Worried sick since then.
Everything was normal at 20 and 23 week scans so feeling deflated. They’ve booked me in for a scan in two weeks but can’t stop worrying if there’s a problem. Googling isn’t helping.
Anyone who was in a similar situation but everything ended up being alright? Looking for some reassurance as this will be our rainbow baby.

Hi @PDS317 you must be very stressed. did they comment on whether they were able to get good clear measurements?

We went for a 26 week scan and they said the baby was on the 5th percentile, when previously she had been scanned three times and always over the 90th. We were very worried but when they scanned her two weeks later she was back at 90. We think they just didn’t get the measurements right as there is nothing else that made sense.

Did they give you any view on why it may have happened?

Sending you positive thoughts x

@Shamoo they didn’t give any reasons, just said it’s still in range but on the lower side. The sonographer said sometimes baby has growth spurts at different points so maybe the head will grow in a spurt.
Nothing more than that
