13.3 weeks, mild period type cramps but something strange on tissue when wiped

Hello, please excuse the TMI but I'm looking for reassurance if possible.

After going for a wee this afternoon I noticed a small brown something(?) on the tissue after wiping, approx the size of a fingernail. I can only assume it was a dry clot. Strangely, there was no accompanying blood.

Since that haopened I've had mild pain along my bikini line, much like you woild have just before a period starts.

I had a scan last week at the EPU for pain and they noted a small area of blood inside (subchoronic hematoma) which wasn't of much concern to them, they said some bleeding is expected and harmless so not to worry unless I have clots.

I'm due to have my anomaly scan on Saturday (12 week scan but delayed, thanks covid) and I don't think I'll be able to relax until then.

Would you be concerned? Has anybody experienced similar?

Its likely to be nothing and related to your heamatoma. If you feel like Saturday is a long way off for reassurance, I’d give them a call and explain and they’ll likely see you sooner. Sorry not much other advice x

Thank you for replying, Care Smile

I think I'll do as you suggested, worst case scenario they can only say no and I'll have to wait. Fingers crossed.

If you had a scan last week and baby was fine but there was SH then I’d say it’s related to that.

I had one but it resolved itself and no bleeding but after researching A LOT it seems people do tend to get some bleeding with it x

Could you call your midwife and ask? I would say it's a due to your hematoma. If they hadn't noted that I'd be worried.

You'll be stretching now so the pain could be that x

Hi @HST58 just thought I’d share my experience, I started spotting 3rd April and have been ever since, it’s ranged from red to brown. I went for a scan 17th April and they could see a area of bleeding away from the pregnancy, I went back today for a repeat scan as they couldn’t see a baby on the 17th, they said the bleed (subchronic haematoma.) seems to be getting smaller, but they expect more bleeding. Last night when I wiped tmi... the blob was not far off the size of my palm... I was absolutely convinced there would be no baby at today’s scan but there the baby was heart beating away at 7+1. The midwife said to me that some people have them with no bleeding and some have them with a little/more bleeding.

I also had this with my dd and had on off bleeding/spotting and everything was ok. But definitely phone them for peace of mind, it’s scary but sounds like it could be normal especially if they said they could see a SC on the scan, if there’s been no more I would try not to worry too much. Saturday isn’t long away x
