Sick and diarrhoea at 38 weeks

Hiya

I’m 38 weeks tomorrow so my time is finally coming but I’m wondering if anyone had sickness and diarrhoea before they went into labour? Last night I was sick, and had to go to the bathroom as well, I had something to eat there and now I’m feeling sick again, I know it can be common to have this at the end off pregnancy but would like to know if this happened to anyone and then suddenly went into labour? I was at the hospital yesterday and was told baby was right down there and labour could happen anytime.

Thanks

Yes I did, though labour wasn't imminent. I was ill as you described at around 6pm one evening, then my waters broke the following morning at around 7am. Baby arrived at 3pm the following day. I hope things are beginning to happen for you!

Yes, that’s pretty common shortly before labour :)

Your stomach is really squashed now which can cause these issues at the end.

DC1, had waters broken then a few contractions in had a massive and immediate 'excavation' from both ends.

DC2, contractions started and was sick en route to hospital in the car (luckily we had planned for this and had a basin).

DC3... tbc... though am currently 28 weeks and have suddenly had a dodgy tummy which has me slightly on edge.

I definitely believe many womens bodies empty themselves in anticipation.

Good luck!
