Hemorrhoids in pregnancy - unbearable itching

I am 38 weeks pregnancy and been suffering from diahorrea for the past week, I have now what it seems developed hemorrhoids and I cannot sleep because the itching is so bad, my entire day is hard work because it's constant. I spoke to the GP and I got anusol but it doesn't offer any relief, he said he cannot prescribe a steroid cream given that I am pregnant. I genuinely do not know how to cope with the itchy bum. I've never had this and I cried twice today already. I called my Day Assessment Unit and the midwife said that it's for the GP to decide.

If you have experienced it, how did cope with this?

I use e45 anti itch cream - not as good as the steroid stuff but it does help. I didn’t find anusol helpful either
