Likelihood of getting pregnant?

My average cycle is around 28 days according to looking at trends on an app I'm logging my period on.

I've had sex on day 8, 10 and 14 of my cycle- how likely is it i have a chance to get pregnant? Been trying for a while but this is first time its been more regular (DH works shifts so been difficult)
Today is day 16 so wondering if still need to try and carry on every other day?

Well, there's always a chance. The best thing is to get some cheap ovulation sticks online so you can know exactly when you ovulate.

Have sex every other day between day 8 and 18 is the rule I use

Missingthebridegene · 25/04/2021 08:33

A good chance in terms of timings but day 12 would have been good too for good measure! X

It depends when you ovulated- I have a 29 day cycle but can ovulate anywhere between day 12 and 17

Like another poster said ovulation sticks. I'd recommend measuring basal body temp too, I used natural cycles originally as birth control coming off pill but then as part of conceiving.☺️

Depends on when you ovulate. Most women ovulate around day 14 of their cycle but a sizable minority ovulate at a different time.

You could use ovulation tests to find out when you normally ovulate or you can do it by taking your temperature (need a sensitive thermometer) or by feeling your cervix.

The advice is to have sex regularly throughout your cycle, not just when you think you ovulate, because you can’t know for sure when you ovulated so to cover all bases I would personally keep going! X

I really swear by the purple (not the pink one) Clearblue ovulation testing kit.

Lizzyblue · 26/04/2021 07:49

I bought the pink clearblue ovulation strips and the smiley face has come up. I had sex three days ago and my husband is working - have I missed my chance this month now? He's back tomorrow

Not sure if it's the same kit I used but the Clearblue one I had said you had to start it on a specific day of your cycle, or it may not be accurate

Sooo, I’ve had 4 c sections and been sterilised.
I’m divorced and have been in a relationship for over 2 years. My recent partner has no children.... and wants one.
Do we stand any chance if I get the sterilisation reversed.... realistically?

BrilloSolar · 26/04/2021 11:10

Statistically, I think I remember that it's around a 20% / 1 in 5 chance of getting pregnant each month if you have regular sex around ovulation. Then there is a 1 in 4 chance of miscarriage (mostly very early on). That's why 6-12 months is given as a 'normal' time frame to conceive within.
