Hi all. So I'm in early labour with baby 2. Baby 1 was pretty fast - but, I'm hoping this guy will hold out until our daughter is in bed, in about 4 hours time. Question: when to blow up the birth pool!?

Birth Pool in a Box website says when contractions are 5 mins apart, however mine are already 4 mins apart, just short (about 20/30 seconds) and mild (can talk through them). We were thinking we'd blow up at 6pm just before bed time, then put in the liner and water after bed time. Can't work out if there's any infection risk in this if the liner isn't in but it's our first home birth so not 100% sure.

You little trouper you! Get it blown up now my love. Especially if you labour fast. It’ll take a while to fill too so I’d get it up, filled a bit later, covered so it’s insulated and hop in when you want.

You definitely want a clean liner in straight away and covered. So excited for you.. adore home births Daffodil

My DD came so quick I never even made it into mine!
You don't want to be doing it when you're in the throes of active labour so get it up now and it's done. Grin Good luck!

I would put it up now and half full with hot water, then nearer the time add more hot and hopefully be a good temp.

For my second labour, my contractions never got as long as expected; they did however get very close together, and then I started feeling the urge to push...
