Worried - (tmi) lump inside vagina opening

Hi, not sure if this is the right place to post but I'm really worried so any advice would be much appreciated!

I'm 35 weeks pregnant with my first baby. I just went to start doing perineal massage as have read that it is good to start about now to hopefully avoid tearing.
When I went to put my fingers in I felt what feels like a hard swollen lump that I've never felt before just inside the opening of my vagina. I went to get a mirror to have a look and the only way I can describe how it looks is almost like a mini brain (very bad description I know) in that it is like lots of little pink lumps that are forming one big hard lump.

Is this normal? If not what could it be? My partner works away and isn't here just now so I'm freaking out a little bit being alone. It's been over a month since we've had sex and I've not had any internal exams or had my own fingers inside until now so I don't know how long it's been there but it's the first I'm feeling it.

Any help is much appreciated! Should I be phoning my midwife?

Also, I can still feel the baby moving as normal so not worried about it being him as such, I'm just worried that it's swelling or a lump or something that should be there.

Anyone with any possibilities would be massively helpful as I'm so nervous about what it could be!

It could be a cyst or possibly a varicose vein. (I am not a HCP) Given that you are worried about it, I would ring your midwife tomorrow and see if you can speak to someone about it.

Ask your midwife

@AssassinatedBeauty thank you. I did have a google and they came up but I looked at pictures of them and it doesn't look like either. It seems to be actually inside my vagina and almost has the texture of a raspberry, just harder.

I'll definitely give the midwife a phone tomorrow, I just can't stop worrying tonight. Not sure if it's just normal swelling or not as this is my first baby so not sure what to expect really

Lots of changes do happen with pregnancy, the midwives will have experience of all sorts of different things. They will be able to work out what's going on and put your mind at ease.

@Lou98 hello I know this is an old thread but I have something similar and I wondered what yours ended up being? Thanks
