So I'm 36w, third baby. First baby came at 40w bang on, the second 38+3, both went Into labour naturally.

The past 2 days Iv been having some pains and symptoms which are;

  • really irregular painful contractions (?)
-iv not stopped pooping (tmi sorry) which isn't really like me -the insides of my thighs and under my bum have been SO SO sore with shooting pains going down them -really awful lightning crotch -i feel like I can feel baby bulging through my pelvis and my waters swishing about up there like they're about to pop(once again tmi sorry) -my pelvis is so so so so sore like she's just going to slide out (also suffer with SPD though) -quite abit of lower back ache

I just feel like it could happen at any time.

What where your symptoms to you about to go into labour? Does it sound like it could happen soon?
Also need to be prepared because DH is currently working a good 4/5 hours away and I have 20minute labours😳

You may not realize you are pregnant as the early signs of pregnancy mimic the symptoms you might experience just before and during menstruation.

Erm... I think the OP realises she’s pregnant at this point @jeveuxin

I hope someone comes along who can actually help @Catsandkittens638297. I’m 35 weeks with first baby and reading out of interest. All the best to you... hand hold. Flowers

With my first baby I had a false alert a week before she was born. Basically, I thought my waters had gone when they hadn't. But the same thing happened a week later, my waters did go and I went into full blown labour. With number 2, no signs whatsoever, apart from an achy night (looking back, those aches were probably contraction), and the next day my waters broke. With my third, I had tiny contractions about a week before, but they were really painless and went away. Then a week later my waters broke and I went into labour. So I'd say for me, signs labour is about to start is waters leaking or breaking, and slight painless contractions

What signs did you have with your previous labours? In hindsight I was a achey a couple of days before labour. My first I was induced. My second and third i had a massive feeling of wanting to be left alone. I had a friend round with my second and all I kept thinking was can you go now I don't want to deal with you at all, like I didn't even want to talk to her which is unusual as we don't ever stop chatting. I had my baby that evening.
With my third I put my older two on their ipads as I just wanted to be left alone and was like bloody hell just stop talking to me now. I had my third that evening.
So I think that was my early warning sign.

I kept having to go for a no.2 about every 5 minutes!

I was induced with my first, but spontaneous with my second. For days beforehand I was running to the loo multiple times a day after having been constipated for weeks - body having a big clearout! I don't know that I really had many other pre-signs.

With both my pregnancies I've had incredibly strong Braxton Hicks and with my second I felt like my baby hadn't moved much one day so I went in to be monitored. The machine picked up the BH which at one point literally went off the chart! The midwife was astonished. "Can't you feel that?!" "Yeah, but it doesn't hurt. It's strong but it's not a contraction." "Well, baby's fine but I think she's coming out soon. Good night, but we'll see you back in the next few days I think!" Waters broke next morning, baby out by lunchtime! Same (deservedly smug) midwife was on duty!

Woke up in the night with explosive diarrhea! Contractions started as I walked back to bed from the bathroom.

Was induced with DC2 so not applicable but am now 20 weeks with number 3, so am interested to see how this one begins!
