Hi,
Does anyone know what it's like to give birth in hospitals at the moment? Are birth partners allowed in from the beginning or will they be sent home until a certain dilated number?

I'm aware things are being restricted due to Covid just not sure of the rules exactly.
Due 20th April 😬😀

I'm due in May, but have been following the latest info from my maternity ward.
At the moment, inductions and elective csections have partner throughout.
Going into labour spontaneously is still partner can come in from transfer to delivery suite which is normally at 4cm dilation

It will vary on hospital i imagine, best person to ask is a local midwife

Okay thank you, I’ll definitely check with the midwife

Hi OP,

I’m currently being induced, of course areas will vary but where I am birth partners can visit from 12-9 once on the maternity ward/delivery suite. If you go into maternity triage they can be with you then for the duration in our area.

They Covid tests mums to be and also birth partners. The partners have to be tested before visiting hours start every time and then if clear they can come in.

Good luck.
