Hi ladies, I'm booked in to have the whooping cough jab next Friday at 28 weeks, just wondering whether I'm going to need to book the weekend off work ( I've hardly any holidays left) , just wondering if the majority of people get significant side effects? Please share your experiences TIA

The only side effects I had was an increase in my HG for about 4 days afterwards, otherwise no side effects at all.

I had it when DS was a newborn (overseas). No side effects.

PinkCookie11 · 14/04/2021 18:43

No side effects just a sore arm

Dimpous · 14/04/2021 18:43

I had a bit of a sore arm but wouldn't have effected ability to work.

GoToSleepBabyPlease · 14/04/2021 18:45

No side effects here either time. I don't think it's known for particularly bad side effects.

But then, I've never needed the next day off after any jab. If you have, maybe consider it?

Peaplant20 · 14/04/2021 18:45

No side effects either x

kensue19 · 14/04/2021 20:12

No side effects apart from a sore arm by bed time, definitely not worth time off.

Twizbe · 14/04/2021 20:14

Just a bit of a sore arm and that was it.

LifeIsBusy · 14/04/2021 20:19

With my first I had no issues but I'm pregnant with my second and it totally floored me with a fever, aches and pains but that only lasted 24-36 hours.

MintGreenLife · 14/04/2021 20:29

I’ve had an upset tummy since mine last Thursday. Hard to know whether the vaccine caused it or something else, but it is listed as one of the potential side effects

Frlrlrubert · 14/04/2021 20:46

I just had a sore arm. It was quite sore for a couple of days.

whatswithtodaytoday · 14/04/2021 20:47

Just a sore arm - it hurt to lie on. Didn't feel ill at all though.

HaNNaHC92 · 14/04/2021 20:51

I've had the vaccine in my three pregnancies. Only side effect I've had is a sore arm for a few days.

alobee1 · 14/04/2021 22:03

I had mine 2 weeks ago, I made a post as I was then unwell the 2 days following and was unsure jd it was just a coincidence but a few said they felt the same.
I wasn't too unwell to move just felt rough but not enough that would have stopped me going to work, probably depends on what your job is.

PlanBea · 14/04/2021 23:53

Another where all I had was a stiff arm for a few days after!

Alicespring · 15/04/2021 08:54

Got mine at 20 weeks.Sore arm and a bit of nausea (i had HG tho up until 16 or so weeks) and I felt a bit warmer than usual but nothing unbearable

BrizzleMaverick · 15/04/2021 09:06

I had it at 20 weeks as it was offered at the same time as my scan. Only a sore arm for a few days. I had the jab in my right arm as I sleep on my left.

MrsB2019x · 15/04/2021 10:30

From what I know most people only experience a sore arm, I was not one of those people. ☹️

I had the jab in the morning, only got about 2 hours sleep that as I had a high temp (38.4) and it was only marginally coming down with paracetamol. Had the shakes and headaches, and was sick 3 times the day after. But felt much better the day after that!

Will still get it done for subsequent pregnancies though as the risk is just too much otherwise
