Hi mums
I have attached pictures of discharge I am getting specifically when I go to pass my stool. I had constipation before but from last one week I get that sudden urge to poop and also this discharge comes out from 3 days. No blood or brown stuff in it. Just a jelly like clear to pale discharge like a blob. I am really worried. I was on progesterone pessary which I have been asked to stop 3 weeks ago. Is it a sign of my impeding labour or what? I have like odd muscle pain both side of my tummy.

It could be your plug, but I believe that it will regenerate until later in pregnancy. It could also be heavy discharge. Without being gross, it could also be mucus from your back passage, especially if you are/have been constipated. No blood, so unlikely to be anything to worry about. If you are worried, especially as you are having some pain, give your midwife a call

You’ve probably got piles and the mucus is from the back passage. I get dreadful internal piles when pregnant and had this often. It’s gross but not anything to worry about.

EXA1912 · 14/04/2021 11:32

It’s probs not the mucus plug is usually thicker and more of it with blood in it. But ring your midwife and get checked over to be sure x

It looks like discharge to me.. I get it in pregnancy.. clear harder type jelly.. I guess it’s out bodies way of making sure nothing is getting passed our cervix.. I always thought a plug looked more snotty with maybe a bit of blood.. sorry about my discription.. I have never seen it though.. the picture you have posted seems normal to me.

Hi henni85. Thank you so much for putting my mind at ease. Nothing is gross while describing weird pregnancy symptoms.😊 i am sure the mucus cam from my vaginal area and not the back passage. If it's a mucus plug and will it regrow in third trimester as well? I hope that's the case only. Just little more anxious since I have stopped progesterone. Really want full term baby. I will contact my midwife about this pain. Thank you.

Hi JensonsAcolyte
I am taking iron tablets and took cosmocol to relive any constipation until last week. But now I don't have any problem with passing stool. I have no pain in back passage. I doubt if I am suffering with piles. Did you have any back side pain with piles? But you are right pregnancy comes with many unknown symptoms.

I saw my mucous plug fall out of me and slipped straight down the toilet when I did a pee one day. It didn't look anything like that it was more brown/grey and just yuck!

GoodbyeH · 14/04/2021 12:39

Looks like normal discharge.

Google pics of mucus plugs. They are bloody and pretty gross!

Hi EXA1912
Thanks. I will ring my midwife as I don't have any appointments until 5th May and they have cancelled my 32 weeks growth scan. But yes there was no blood in the discharge so assuming its all OK. ☺

Thank you Peachee
I hope so as I think as other mums describe here that the plug looks very different from this. This is my second healthy pregnancy after 9 years and I never had anything like this with my first one so completely clueless about new things happening with this one. I believe your words and thank you for the reassuring me. That's more what important for me.😊

Thank you Horehound for stopping by and sharing your experience about mucus plug with us. Hope everything was fine with you and baby after mucus plug came out. Were you straight away in labour after that? I am started feeling better and less worried after reading all these responses.☺

Thank you GoodbyeH. Yes that's the first thing I have done. Google pictures. But got bit worried as some places it has been mentioned that not necessary that the mucus plug will have the blood in it. But I think it will be lot more if that's the case. May be my body is getting rid off some unwanted stuff from my body to keep baby healthy. But thank you for your reassuring words. It means a lot to me.

Best of luck to you x
