Baby stopped growing - anyone with a positive outcome?

My wife and I went for our 12 week scan today. My wife also went for a scan 6 weeks ago to have something checked out. Unfortunately today's scan showed no growth with the baby size being 2.9mm instead of 5cm. The baby is still attached inside and have decided to give it a couple more weeks to see if they can get some energy and start to grow again. Had anyone been in a similar situation please? Any encouragement much appreciated.

Thanks

Matt

Realistically, with no growth from 6 to 12 weeks I'd prepare for the worst. Sorry I can't be more positive.

I'm really sorry to read this.

Can I ask what advice and outcome you were given by the sonographer?

Sadly, no growth and no heartbeat at a 12 week scan would normally be deemed a 'missed miscarriage', particularly if there had been a scan earlier in pregnancy and no progression.

I had a similar experience last year and although I desperately wish the baby could have started growing again this isn't possible I'm afraid.

I hope you are both getting some support.

Unfortunately, I’ve just come out of the other side of this and I’m very sorry to say it wasn’t a good outcome for us. Look after eachother

I’m really sorry, I hate to say it but I also agree with previous posters that preparing for the worst would probably be the most realistic thing Flowers

So sorry you are both going through this. Like PP this would be deemed as a missed miscarriage, it's such a cruel thing.

Thank you everyone for sharing and support. Very sad for all those hurt by this. I wish you all the best.
