I'm quite early so just wondering how long I can expect this to go on for! Thanks

Mine started around 6 weeks and didn’t go til around 16/17 weeks. I fee for you OP, it’s a miserable time!

mushforbrain · 08/04/2021 16:49

Started weeks 3-4 and eased up a lot week 12 and gone totally by about 16. With both of mine weeks 9/10 were the worst. Totally horrendous you have my sympathy. It’s literally one of the main reasons I don’t want any more children!

CaptainMyCaptain · 08/04/2021 16:51

The day I gave birth.

MeadowHay · 08/04/2021 16:53

Well I'm in my second HG pregnancy so at the extreme end. I was mostly back to normal by about 24 weeks last time, I went back to work at 20 weeks, improvement began around the 12 week mark but was slow and gradual. I was never 100 per cent normal until the baby was born though really. I'm 14 weeks second time round and I think I'm more sick now than I was at this gestation last time which doesn't bode well Sad

Chelyanne · 08/04/2021 16:56

The all day nausea started to reduce to later in the day from 12wk, had gone completely by 17wk. Terrible heartburn has started recently and had me clinging to the toilet bowl feeling like I was going to vomit today, 21+2wk now.

Cinnamama · 08/04/2021 17:09

Big improvement from 16 weeks with both pregnancies- I had it pretty bad both times (but luckily not HG). Some food aversions seem to stick about for me- so I didn’t like certain tastes/ smells/ textures throughout whole pregnancy that I’m normally fine with. And being hungry felt worse than normal throughout- so would eat extra snacks or split meals to be smaller but more often.

CrazyOldBagLady · 08/04/2021 17:10

It went on until about 22 weeks if I recall correctly.

Rosieposy89 · 08/04/2021 17:19

Currently 16+3, morning sickness started 6 weeks and started easing off around week 12. I have had the odd day where it kicks in, but finding it easier to deal with. Aversion to certain smells is still there though. Hang in there x

ProbablyGryffindor · 08/04/2021 17:21

About 26 weeks. It was really awful, feel for you OP!

Kimye4eva · 08/04/2021 17:21

About 20 weeks with both. Miserable.

Sprockerdilerock · 08/04/2021 18:44

Started at 6 and went at about 14. Horrible time, got through it by drinking lemon and ginger tea and nibbling plain carbs all the time.

gemgem1404 · 08/04/2021 18:46

I had HG it eased at 16 weeks didn't stop till 24 weeks

LordFoofingtonismyMaster · 08/04/2021 18:55

Stopped being sick around 20 weeks on first pregnancy but nausea continued and I started getting sick again for the last maybe 8 weeks. Second child the extreme puking stopped about 36 hours after I gave birth. Both were HG pregnancies. It was miserable. I do hope you feel better soon.

Formulation123 · 08/04/2021 18:57

Stopped being sick after birth and my appetite came back 3/4 weeks postpartum

checkengine · 08/04/2021 19:08

@LordFoofingtonismyMaster @Formulation123 how awful for you! Sad did you end up having to be hospitalised or on meds at all? x

Currently 20 weeks and no sign of easing off...
Good luck OP. This is hugely challenging and makes it so difficult to enjoy pregnancy at all. Hope it stops soon for you!

LayingLow · 08/04/2021 20:04

Baby 1.. 6 until 23 weeks
Baby 2.. 8 until 14 weeks
Baby 3.. 5 until 20 weeks
Baby 4.. 6 until 10 weeks

There's no set amount of time but hopefully yours will ease soon 💗

MeridasMum · 08/04/2021 20:20

4 pregnancies, sickness stopped the day I gave birth

Forest27 · 08/04/2021 20:28

It was gone by week 16 for me! I’m now 19 weeks and feel pretty normal. I even managed to eat baked beans which I could even look at before 16 weeks 😂

It was the worst 16 weeks of my life and I thought it would never end but it just stopped one day! 8-10 weeks were the worst, couldn’t even manage short car journeys without having to make a mad dash to the loo to be sick and I had to be within a short distance of a toilet at all times!

Hopefully yours will ease off before mine did ☺️

Formulation123 · 08/04/2021 20:30

Yes I ended up in hospital and on meds, I weighed less when I was full term than when I got pregnant...guess there’s a silver lining in there somewhere 😂

AegonT · 08/04/2021 21:07

Both times:
Started at 6 weeks
Got worse till 8/9 weeks then got better
Mostly ok at 12 weeks
Completely better by 15/16 weeks

schnubbins · 08/04/2021 21:54

DS1 at 27 weeks could cope but latent nausea till birth

DS2 20 weeks

PurpleFlower1983 · 09/04/2021 08:07

Better at 10 weeks, gone by 14 weeks.

Dozer · 09/04/2021 08:09

I mainly just had awful nausea, not often actually sick. Was from 8 to 12/13 weeks then stopped completely with DC1.

Much better with DC2 and stopped at same time.

checkengine · 09/04/2021 11:42

Thanks everyone. I'm hoping it doesn't last too long! 🤞🏼
