Brown spotting at 10 weeks

Hey guys

I’m 10 weeks and when I wiped myself last night I had some brown spotting and mucus that was brown. I am so scared - I haven’t slept all night. I have called EPU and they said to monitor but this can be very common. Please let me know your thoughts. I’m feeling very low

I had the same at 8+9wks. On every other wipe. My EPU said not to worry unless it's red and filling a pad every hour. We had a dating scan the week later and I was sure something was wrong but EPU were right we didn't need to worry, baby was fine.
I've had no spotting or discharge since but did have 13+1 scan on Tuesday and there's still a happy dancing baby there.

Try not to panic, but phone EPU if your very worried. Hope everything is alright OP xx

Hey @buttongalore. I’m currently 8+3 - had a sudden bleed last week and have been spotting much like you describe ever since.

Went to A&E and I have a scan next Tuesday after some blood tests which came back ok. They advised that aslong as it doesn’t turn to bright red blood - not to worry. Easier said than done I know! I just wish it would stop. But you’re not alone. Try to keep calm x

Thank you both - that is reassuring. I am still having the spotting but I still have extreme nausea, fatigue and sore boobs so I am hoping those are good signs. I have my 12 week scan in two weeks. This is going to be torture for me. I just wish I could understand what this brown spotting means ..

Aww, everything sounds fine to me op. But EPU are there if you are very worried. I'm sure it's all ok, it is very common xx

@buttongalore I have had brown and pink spotting when I wipe three times so far in my pregnancy - 8,10, 11 weeks. I had a scan at EPU at 8 weeks and baby was fine. 10 weeks EPU said not to worry, just monitor to see if I filled a pad with red blood. At 11 weeks I had spotting (tiny amount) and severe cramping so had another scan at EPU... baby was fine 😊

It is so stressful when you see spotting but now when I see it I just try not to worry. My midwife said spotting can be for many reasons like implantion bleeding, a nicked blood vessel, increased blood flow can cause some old blood to come out (hence brown colour), placenta taking over, uterus growing, exercise can also contribute. There are so many reasons and most of the time it is nothing to worry about 😊

Went to EPU yesterday and they detected no heartbeat. Apparently baby stopped growing at 7 weeks. I knew something was wrong as soon as I saw brown discharge. I’m broken completely

I’m currently having the same, brown when wipe every now and again! More this morning.. but accompanied with back pain and stomache.. I’m an anxious person so probably worrying too much! Thanks for all the comments.. xx

@mia2201 thank you. Sorry for your loss. I am taking one day at a time. Just waiting for the clots/tissue to pass. The worst thing I have ever been through in my life
