Engagement of babies head! Interpretation of notes!

Hi all!

Just trying to understand my "notes" on the app from my midwife appointment this week.

So I have the app and under engagement my midwife put 4/5.

Iv read 2 completely different things and am confused at the comment along with the 4/5ths.

So I didn't see 4/5 until after my appointment when I got in the car! So didn't ask, I just asked about the head and how low is she currently and my midwife said she's into the pelvis and "ready" for whenever she's ready to come.

Now to me I took that as 4/5 into the pelvis not 4/5 palpable?!

Can anyone help? Just curious as I know this can also mean nothing at all with regards to Labour!
I'm only 35+4 anyway and this is my 3rd baby.

Thanks everyone 🥰

4/5 palpable is usually what they’d write. So Baby starting to engage but not engaged yet is how I would read that. With your third baby is quite unlikely to engage fully until labour I would imagine!

It is indeed 4/5 palpable. My baby was 4/5 at 28 weeks then popped back up and went diagonal, with occasional forays into being transverse

If I remember correct, there is an explanation in the green notes.
4/5 means baby’s head sitting on the pelvic brim.
Yes, it doesn’t necessarily mean that the baby will arrive soon.
My second was engaged 3/5 from 35 weeks and I gave birth at 41 weeks.
Wishing you smooth and easy labour Flowers

Yes as Iv read also with 3rd pregnancies especially that often don't engage until Labour!
It's because I have this app not the green notes anymore and Iv totally forgotten a lot of things since my last, 7 years ago!
