Babies head is huge! HELP

Ok so I am from Belgium and get ultrasounds every month, and because I am 36 weeks friday, every 2 weeks now. Thats how it goes over here :)
I went a day ago at 35+4 and babies head is measuring over 99% (bpd) at 38w6!
Month before it was at 92%
Month before that again over 99% but 4 weeks ahead even.
Legs measuring 2 days ahead and stomach 2 weeks behind.

Anyone else have good stories birthing a baby with a big head? Lol.

Its my second. My first was a girl (now a boy) and had this huge head at first also. But then got IUGR around 36 weeks and head and stomach started to decline resulting in an average head at birth of 34cm and slender body of 2kg800 but normal length.

This one seems to have gone down a but in abdomen, but his head is staying large and I am concerned :P

My first was induced at 40 weeks, by breaking my water. Was a 4 hour birth and 4 pushes. Last one with the ventous extractor because she had problems with her heartbeat when I pushed. She was totally healthy tho and only tiny tear I assume because she came out so fast and was pulled out with the ventous thing.
The induction gave me back labor and contraction storm so that was hell. Thankfully it went so fast.

This baby is estimated to be around 3kg400 at birth. Which isnt very big and very normal. But that head... man im scared lol.

Our 3rd's head was 37.7cm at birth. She was my easiest natural birth with just a few pushes to get her out. I did tear as she came fast and the midwife was out of the room when I started pushing.

I just looked it up and my DS was measured at 364mm at 38 weeks (I had a scan due to reduced movements- fine but having a rest, apparently). He was born with 380mm head circumference by ECS. The scan I had at 38 weeks made my decision as I wanted to avoid the situation where he might get stuck as the thought terrified me. If you are worried talk to your midwife about your options. I'm sure a VB is not impossible at all but I think you might want to discuss your options.

I go to the gyneacologist in the hospital :) no midwive. She also did my prior delivery. She didnt say anything about it but I am gonna bring it up again next visit. Last time I said omg the head is so big, she said it will be allright.

@Annvdb morning
I have no idea what my little girls head was measuring before I gave birth but she was a 9lb 2 baby with quite a big head and was my easiest birth. I did slightly struggle to get her head out so my legs had to be pushed back to help me, no stitches or tears which I was delighted about but it was 10 times easier than my 7lb 13 baby for sure. Don't panic you'll do grand.xx

My son’s head was on the 97th centile and he came out just fine. No stitches required and only 6 minutes of pushing. He was also a chunky 9lb5oz. I wouldn’t worry about it.

2nd births are supposed to be much easier which was certainly my experience so if your gynaecologist says she's not worried then I'm sure it will be fine. Both mine had HUGE heads (blame my husband) and I am very small and had vaginal births both times.
First labour was very long and I tore badly, second was very quick, still tore but more managed so healed quicker.

My baby's head was so big when she was measured as a newborn that it was off the chart, floating well above the line for 99.9 centile. People actually came into the delivery room to 'see the enormous baby'.

The birth was a breeze compared to smaller but still large headed first child.

However both children now wear age 12+ hats and are under 8 Grin

I gave birth to my DS last week, his head had been measuring above 95th percentile at my last two growth scans.

He was born with a very average 35cm head, growth scans can be very unreliable so I wouldn’t stress too much!

When I voiced my concerns to the midwives after the scan they said that the babies skull bones all move so they can pass through the birth canal easier so it shouldn’t make the birth too much harder.

This was me exactly!!! My sons head was over 100%. I had lots of stitches with my first a girl who was a much smaller baby so like you was very nervous. In the end I had a water birth with no tearing at all. And I was about 10 days late. Apparently the baby comes out slower in the water so less likely to tear???

My baby is 50th percentile on everything except head - 99th percentile! I haven't gone through labour yet however I was the same, born with a large head and my mum didn't have any tearing or stitches. I'm not too worried about it, at least I know he's definitely mine Grin
