Partners allowed at scans Leic royal infirmary?

Afternoon 😊 I have just got my dating scan appointment through today which has seemed like the longest wait haha, and I’ve read two conflicting bits of info regarding partners coming to scans, has anyone on here been for their scan at Leicester royal infirmary recently and know if you can or cannot take your partner? One bit of info says come to appointments on your own unless you need a carer with you the other says you can have one named partner with you for your 12 and 20 week scan I really don’t want to be on my own when having the NT screening but obviously understand with everything going on that I may have to TIA xx

Hi again @Holly91

You can take him to 12 & 20 week. I had the same - their letter still said come alone but I rang and they just hadn't updated template! Will have no issues if for these 2 scans, otherwise go alone

GlobetrottingPercy · 06/04/2021 14:43

Yes, my letter said to attend alone too but I followed the guidance published here:

www.leicestershospitals.nhs.uk/patients/covid-19-information-hub/using-our-maternity-services/

The letter templates weren't updated for any of my scans so I kept checking their website for the latest.

@ChunkyButFunky87 hi again 😁 Thankyou for reply, yeah the letter wasn’t very clear at all haha just glad I have my date through even if it is another two weeks away😩😂 also extremely happy partner will be able to attend x

I know what you mean, I was the same! It's so confusing when they all say different things but he can definitely go to 12 and 20 weeks - I ended up ringing like ChunkyButFunky87 just to check because the letter and website said different things. I also got the scans for free and didn't have to pay so hopefully that's the same still!

Holly91 · 06/04/2021 16:20

Yes I may quickly ring the day before just to double check 😂 (I seem to b worrying over absolutely everything at the min) oooo I hope they are still giving them out for free I was kinda shocked when I read it was £18 for 4 haha, hows the parking situation at the Kensington building I’ve never been to that part or LRI before xx

There's a short stay car park right outside the Kensington building but it is pay and display and only takes cash so bear that in mind - it caught me out as I didn't have enough change! It's also quite small so you can always try it but you may well need to go to the main car park if there are no spaces left Smile
Not sure if you have been recently and so already know this but just in case, the main car park is having work done so you pay a flat fee when you enter (there's someone waiting at the entrance to take your payment).

Sadly the short stay was out of order the last 2 weeks when I've been - they were fitting new entrance barriers so it may only be Havelock street and walk round unfortunately. Didnt have any signs up to say how long it's out of action for
