Possible miscarrying

I’m 10 weeks pregnant, started spotting on Saturday afternoon with it being a pinkish colour. Then gradually started getting heavier, I passed a clot which was fairly big then tiny ones after that, just looked like blood clots no tissue? I went to a and e as it was a bank holiday they took my bloods said my hcg levels are still really high got a scan in the early pregnancy department tomorrow. Still bleeding a little but no cramps. Bleeding is worse when I wake up in the morning or occasionally when I stand up. The blood is bright red, am I miscarrying? I’ve heard of a sub chronic hematoma. Midwife said it could be a ‘hiding twin’ as my levels are so high. Any information anyone can tell me please, my cervix is closed and they felt my stomach apparently it feels okay, I’m so scared that I’m going to have my scan tomorrow and they are going to say there is no heartbeat

How’s your pregnancy going now? I’m just scared it’s going to happen again

To be honest the possibility of miscarriage is always at the back of my head and I still check the tissue every time I go to the loo. But I've been for 2 private scans and they've given me a lot of reassurance. Its been a good pregnancy in terms of symptoms, I'm just tired. The last sonographer said she thinks its extremely unlikely I miscarry now 🤞 If you go onto the miscarriage association website or the Tommy website there's some really good reliable information. It's really hard but you'll get through it. Just give yourself time to grieve and try have some comfort in the knowledge that its very likely your next pregnancy will be a healthy and successful one 💗

Miscarriage is awful and the aftercare is non-existent. I'm so sorry you are going through this. About 20% of pregnancies end in miscarriage generally with no explanation and we just don't talk about it.

I miscarried last year at 7 weeks - similar to you but ended up on the ward due to very heavy bleeding.

Once you've stopped bleeding you can try again straight away. It took me about 3 weeks to fully stop bleeding and my period took a little while to come back.

We decided to stop trying last year due to the pandemic, but started again in November and we're lucky enough to get pregnant straight away. I'm now 21 weeks, low risk pregnancy. However the fear of something going wrong is still with me - the first few weeks were unbearable.

I recommend the Tommy's website for good information.

@Vimeo0 sorry to hear what you're going through ❤️❤️ it will get easier in time.
I had a miscarriage last July at 6 weeks and got pregnant in August, now 32 weeks pregnant and you always worry. I also had a sub chorionic hematoma in this pregnancy from 4-11 weeks but it was gone by 12 week scan. Take your time to grieve, everyone deals with it differently and look after yourself.xx

@Vimeo0

I'm so sorry to hear what you're going through.

I had a baby last year in August, but sadly had an early miscarriage/chemical pregnancy two months ago.

I'm still licking my wounds.

I hope you'll feel better soon, take care and be kind to yourself.

And also you can still have a successful pregnancy despite miscarrying xx

@Vimeo0 I’m so sorry about your miscarriage. It’s truly heartbreaking.

I had 4 miscarriages in the past year and after each one, as soon as bleeding had stopped (risk of infection if you don’t wait) and I tested negative on a pregnancy test, we began to try again.

Theres no right or wrong, some people like to take time out, but for me as soon as it was safe to do so, it helped me have something to focus on.

I’m now over 16 weeks pregnant and so far things are going well.

Just be kind to yourself and surround yourself with support. X

Also forgot to say that after my 9 week miscarriage it took only a few days for bleeding to stop, but took 5 weeks for my hcg levels to drop back to non pregnant levels so we could try again.

My levels were 65000 on Saturday then dropped down too 25400 when I had my bloods taken today 🙁

Iworry2021 · 07/04/2021 19:58

@Moominmiss

I'm so sorry that you had to go through this. Congrats on your pregnancy.

Did they ever find out the reason for the miscarriages?

Chica1990 · 07/04/2021 20:56

So sorry @Vimeo0. Please be kind to yourself and wishing you luck xx

@Iworry2021 thank you. It has been the toughest year of my life, but this baby is a blessing!

After my 3rd loss I was referred to a fertility consultant where I had various tests, all results were perfect, as was my partners semen analysis. Scans of my uterus showed everything as it should be so no reason was given.

I’d done some of my own research and read about how a low dose of aspirin can help some women. It seemed I had no issue getting pregnant, but making it stick was the issue.

When I got pregnant for the fourth time I was wary of starting the aspirin without the doctors say so, but unfortunately while I waited to hear back from them, I miscarried again.

After that I vowed I’d just start aspirin from ovulation next time as by that point I felt I really had nothing to lose!

So I started myself on 150mg aspirin from 1dpo, and amazingly got my bfp at 8dpo and things have been amazing ever since. Right from the start things were different. Test lines were strong, early scan at 5+4 showed a heartbeat. It was all just going smoother. EPU started me on progesterone too as 5+4 even though my progesterone levels were good.

At my booking appointment with the midwife at 9 weeks she checked with a consultant that they were happy for me to stay on the aspirin at that dose and they confirmed they were and had I not already been taking it, would have put me on it.

I’ve since stopped the progesterone at 16 weeks, but will continue with the aspirin throughout the pregnancy.

I’ll never know if it really was the aspirin that made the difference but it’s the only thing I did differently.

So while I never got any official answers, I do wonder if I had a clotting issue.

So sorry your going through this. I went through similar last year at 8 weeks and I'm now 32 weeks pregnant. I didn't feel like me once it had happened and put so much pressure on to get pregnant again and as soon as I relaxed it happened.

Look after yourself and take as much time to recover as you need Flowers

Vimeo0 · 10/04/2021 13:43

I’m just scared that my next pregnancy will end up the same 😭😭

@Vimeo0 no one can predict the future but statistics show that most women go on to have successful pregnancies myself included. But unfortunately once you've had that miscarriage once it is always at the back of your mind. I had a miscarriage last summer and got pregnant 8 weeks later, currently 33 weeks pregnant and it was at the back of my mind the first 16 weeks. But you never relax until baby is born. Look after yourself.xx
