What helped your lower back pain?

Hi,

I’m currently 27+4 and struggling to sleep all night due to back pain. I have a pregnancy pillow, I sleep on either left or right side but my lower back is aching like crazy to the point it wakes me up and I can’t go back to sleep. It’s like this throughout the day too although not so severe.

Just wondering what helped everyone?

I have back ache too. I’m a day off 34 weeks. Wearing a pregnancy support belt really helps. I have a three part one with a belt that goes round my bump, a piece at the back to support my back and then a piece that goes over the top of the bump. Since I’ve started wearing it the difference is huge! My hips and back were making me cry some nights it hurt so much at around 27-28 weeks. I still have pain, but it’s less extreme. Good luck op. I hope things improve for you Flowers

Weakened core leads to lots of back trouble. Try to brace your core throughout the day when you are doing activities. You can use a bump support but do remember to do lots of core strength exercises as soon as you are able to after birth. The muscles will lose a lot of strength from lack of use with exterior supports.
I suffered for 2 years after having our twins as my core was put under so much strain and I spent years rebuilding it in the gym. Pregnant again but keeping up the weightlifting to maintain as much strength as I can.

I had terrible back pain during pregnancy. It started in the middle of the second trimester. First it was bearable, but then I also couldn't sleep at night. My husband bought me a support pillow. I used it between me bent knees, under abdomen or behind my back. It barely helped, tbh. Then my doc told me that the more I exercise during the day, the less pain I'll have at night. She advised me to try yoga. I followed Yanva yoga instructions to relieve back pain. I should admit, that it really helps. You can also try yoga or any other exercises or just walk more through the day.
