Hi all

I'm 5+1 and having a hard time putting the worries to the back of my mind... how did you all cope with the wait between finding out you're pregnant to your 12 week scan? I just can't switch off at all 🤦‍♀️ Any tips greatly received!!

I'm keeping busy with work. The cramps and general aches are strong today. Can feel them down the tops of my legs and in my lower back. Hoping this is normal!

mrsawhite · 04/05/2021 17:43

Hey. How are we doing? Time has actually passed quicker than expected! How's everyone feeling?

Colinthecaterpillar35 · 04/05/2021 18:37

@mrsawhite I was actually thinking about you earlier as I remember your name popping up when I first started posting and from memory you're about as far along as me (9+1 now for me!). I agree the last few weeks have gone by quicker than I expected and I have my 12 week scan on 27/05 which is starting to come round fast now!

I'm doing ok but feeling really emotional and useless recently. I'm so tired and constantly feeling sick... well actually the only time I don't feel sick is when I'm eating which is then making me feel worse mentally as I'm eating so much and putting on weight! I've also noticed a real difference in my breathing too... before this is I was moderately fit but even walking up the stairs at the moment I can feel myself getting out of breath. I'm also really uncomfortable at night too, achy legs are really getting to me!

Wow I sound like I do nothing but moan 🤦‍♀️ just needed to vent sorry....

How are you feeling? xx

Hello!

I've noticed breathing is different too. I'm not sure how I feel. Some days I think yes I feel very pregnant. Other days I'm sure my symptoms have stopped like last time ☹️ I had my booking in last week. And have a blood test on Friday. Should get letter soon for scan. Almost dreading it though! Sounds so silly. I am eating all the time too and have fairly filled out 😁

I couldn’t wait 🤣 so booked an early scan. Mainly because I didn’t know how far I was as periods were irregular and wanted to know if the pregnancy was still viable as felt the wait between finding out and 12 weeks was so long.
Turns out I was 8 weeks on the scan so only then had a few weeks to wait until NHS one. I also had a scan within my private harmony test done a few days before nhs 12 wk scan as new my screening for trisomy’s would come back high due to age.

If you can, book a early scan for a few weeks time ( definitely wait until approx 8 weeks!) x

Hello!

I found out I was pregnant on Christmas Eve. The wait until the 12 week scan felt never ending and I couldn't really do much to hurry time up with being in lockdown. I don't have much advice just to take each day as it comes. I'm 24 weeks pregnant now and never thought it would go this quickly. It will honest fly by! Wishing you a healthy pregnancySmile

Same as previous poster said, keep busy and avoid googling as it'll make you feel worse. Do what you need to health wise to keep everything going as best possible. I'm just over 20 weeks and it's now flying by at a scary rate but it absolutely dragged and was awful waiting for that first scan, unfortunately the anxiety doesn't really go away after the 12 week apt, I suppose that's us for life now worrying!! I think the hormones don't help our minds either!

mrsawhite · 31/05/2021 10:56

Finally got 12 week scan tomorrow. Though if all is well should be a week or so over that. Now I'm dreading it though. Feel so normal. Hoping just the hormones settling down!

@Colinthecaterpillar35 - I know how you feel, we all have that long stretch to wait before the 12 week scan. The down side is the earlier you find out you’re pregnant the longer the wait. Take a day at a time, don’t overthink everything, enjoy things as you did pre pregnancy and don’t change your lifestyle too much too soon x
