I was advised to get the Whooping cough vaccine between 16 to 32 weeks so I got vaccinated in 22 weeks. I just found some different information regarding the recommended time. I'm curious when you get the Whooping cough vaccine.

NHS says 16-32 weeks, so that is the official guidelines and you shouldn't really put much faith in what other things say (particularly regarding vaccines as they tend to have the most misinformation). It actually doesn't matter when between those times - and tbh you can still have it any time up to labour to help protect baby for the 8 weeks they spend unvaccinated. So really between 16-40 weeks.

I got mine at the hospital after my 20 week scan.

Got mine at 26 weeks, same time as the flu vaccine.

ElderMillennial · 04/04/2021 09:06

At hospital after 20 week scan.

Chelyanne · 04/04/2021 09:35

Not been offered it yet. I next see consultants and have my anti-D at 28wk so will ask for it then.

PrincessTilly · 04/04/2021 10:02

I got mine as late as possible because I was in two minds about it

Luckyelephant1 · 04/04/2021 10:15

Had it the other day at 25 weeks. I intended to have it at the 20 week scan but I forgot to ask lol and it wasn't offered. My arm really hurt for 2-3 days afterwards.

LaMadrilena · 04/04/2021 10:34

32 weeks is standard here (Spain).

Mhc19 · 04/04/2021 16:19

PurpleIsTheColour · 04/04/2021 18:36

Snally82 · 05/04/2021 00:03

Rumples · 05/04/2021 08:03

PurpleFlower1983 · 05/04/2021 08:16

I’m having it tomorrow, 23+4.

jupeBex · 05/04/2021 08:29

Booked mine at the GP at 26 weeks, my midwives didn't do them

RunnerGirl123 · 05/04/2021 09:06

Mine is tomorrow at 21+6. Midwife mentioned it on the phone at 16w appointment, said to book it with the GP after having my anomaly scan.

Andthenanothercupoftea · 05/04/2021 09:33

I'm booked in later this week, I'll be 21 weeks. I was told to book it just after my 20 week scan.

PlanBea · 05/04/2021 10:21

I had mine at 16w+5 immediately after my 16 week appointment. The midwife said to get it booked in and when I asked at the GP after the appointment the nurse could do it then and there, so rather than make another trip I had it then

Chocolateismakingmefat · 05/04/2021 10:25

I almost lost my ds at 2 weeks old to whooping cough.
I am so glad there is a vaccine! To any doubters, imagine holding your new baby turning blue from lack of oxygen and your other dc shouting is their baby brother going to die
..
Get that jab!
He is coming up 20 now and fighting fit!

BerylSilverstone · 05/04/2021 13:02

I’m having mine on Thursday when i’ll be 23 weeks x
