Blue lump entrance vagina - 33 weeks pregnant

Hi guys. Bit worried and hoping someone else may have had the same as I can’t speak to GP until next week.

In the last couple months I’ve noticed a small pea sized soft lump just to side of entrance to my vagina. It’s blue in colour. It has got about 1cm in size now. I thought it may be a cyst so popped it and blood came out and it’s instantly refilled again now.

I read something about variocities like varicose veins but it isn’t worm / vein shaped it’s round like a pea.

Did anyone else experience this?

Could it be a bartholins cyst?
I'd never heard of this before until my last pregnancy. But apparently they're more common in pregnancy

I was going to say Bartholian cyst too. I have had these in the past. I remember with the first one I was so worried, but the doctor put me at ease, and they are apparently quite common. I had one that got to be a big pea size when I was pregnant. I popped it and put a cotton wool pad soaked on witch Hazel on it and it was gone.

This is blue in colour (because it’s blood filled) rather than white I’d expect from a cyst

Vulval varicose veins. I promise you. Not dangerous.
They don't bloody mention them in the books!! I absolutely freaked out when I first saw them
They'll disappear after birth.
Avoid being on your feet too long, pressure makes them throb.
Talk to midwife. When I had them I birhed laying on my side, which sounds odd, but the midwife said it would help not to put pressure on them when bearing down.
It was actually my easiest birth!

My bartholins cyct was blue coloured because that's mainly all it was, filled with blood

Yes, the varicosities I had presented as small blue lumps. Check with midwife to be sure, love. But don't stress

Somanyquestions111 · 02/04/2021 10:25

So grateful! Thank you! Probably shouldn’t have popped it hahaha

Another that almost 100% thinks vulval varicose vein!

Somanyquestions111 · 02/04/2021 19:02

I popped it last night thinking it was a cyst and it almost straight away returned. Bit sore today and intermittently bleeding SMALL amounts - I guess that’s to be expected as it’s kind of open where I burst it?

Anyone had a vulval variosity bleed or be popped?
