Any HCPs who know about the Glucose Test fasting period

Hi, I'm 24 weeks and have an appointment for the GTT at 9am tomorrow. I thought it was a 12 hour fast period before the test and finished dinner about 8.30, but I just checked my letter and it said not to eat anything after 8pm, not 9pm. I'm wondering if the letter's just over cautious and assuming people will push the boundary a bit past whatever time they state, so says 8pm instead of 9pm - but have I got it wrong and it's actually a 13 hour tasting period before the test? Anyone know?

I'm not a HCP but I have mine tomorrow morning at 9.30 and been told not to eat or drink anything except plain water after 11.30 tonight. I am having the blood test though not the glucose drink.

Mine is at 10am and letter says no food after midnight, so only 10 hours. It's just the fasting bloods, no drink.

Not a HCP, but I had mine earlier on this week. My appt was at 8.30am and my letter only said no food and only plain water after midnight. So def not 13hrs! Mine was bloods, the glucose drink, a 2hr wait and then more bloods.

NHS website states 8-10 hour fast.

I remember all mine had a 12hr fasting time on the letters. I do 12-14hrs every day anyway so no difference for me when I have to have it.

I know it's a bit late now but I had mine yesterday and it was a 9hr fast. I actually did more like a 15 hour fast and was starving by the time I got there!
