Hi I am pretty upset and confused right now because my first day of lmp was Jan 24 and I had my bfp on feb 28 with a cheap test which put me at 8 weeks 5 days. Well I went in for an ultrasound and I measured 6weeks 1 day with a faint hb, everything looked normal. But obviously to me that isn’t normal only because of when I took the test!! How is that possible??? Stories pls ladies that have been in same situation. Good and the bad! Thanks

I meant to add my pregnancy symptoms has been strong for last 3 weeks and still are. I have had many miscarriages before and I’m not feeling it yet. This just isn’t fair!! If I’m going to lose it I wish it would just happen! :(

Please clarify the dates again, you may just have your maths wrong. Focus on the fact that all looks well so far!

Janxyb · 27/03/2021 13:44

Could you just have had a long cycle and ovulated much later than you think? Was the bfp on the 28th a strong positive? X

ThatsNotTheTeaHunty · 27/03/2021 13:53

I was so sure my dates were right. 100% my periods were always on time etc.
I was only about 2-4 days out but I was still out!
My sister who is currently pregnant went for an early scan and they only saw a sac and she convinced herself her dates were right. She had to go back in two weeks and her dates were in fact wrong and they got to see their little jumping bean Smile.

Chelbell87 · 27/03/2021 15:42

My dates are correct because I use the Flo app, I documented the first day of last period Jan 24th and even wondering where my period was in February but it wasnt a surprise because I sometimes was two weeks late for periods anyway. What I don’t get is when I tested it was a BFP and that doesn’t make sense. As I would have only been 2 weeks 3 days pregnant meaning I would have just conceived right?

Yes it was a bold positive on a cheap test on feb 28th this is what gets me thinking this is a loss.

Then isn’t it just as likely you could be two weeks late for ovulation?

Chelbell87 · 27/03/2021 15:46

Glad you and your sister’s babies were okay and crazy how our bodies can work. I could accept that possibly I gotten pregnant at an abnormal time but what doesn’t make sense is the BFP which would put me at 2 weeks 3 days pregnant.

Yes but I don’t understand why my preg test was so bold at only 2 weeks 3 days pregnant?

When was the scan OP? Today? It doesn’t really add up like you say, because if you’re 6+1 you’d have conceived around the very end of February but you got a bfp at the end of Feb so you must have conceived more around mid Feb.... what did they say at the scan? Are they going to re-scan in a week or so to see if it’s grown?

I hope it works out ok for you Flowers

FTEngineerM · 27/03/2021 15:56

I’m not sure, but assuming you usually ovulate 2 weeks after lmp, that takes the assumed ovulation date to 7th feb. If you ovulated 10 days late for example, you’d be 11dpo on 28th Feb, women get positives at 11dpo on here quite frequently.

Add into that the precision error on the ultrasound, I saw on one thread the sonographer gave a date then +- up to 5 days.

It’s not unfeasible you are pregnant and it’ll be ok ❤️.

SnooperTrooper12345 · 27/03/2021 16:22

Was it a private scan you went for? If not, was there a reason you had a scan?

Chelbell87 · 27/03/2021 16:33

It was ordered from my doctor because I have had many miscarriages.

I thought about that as well possibly an error on ultrasound, of course it was transvaginal and she barely put pressure which I think they aren’t supposed to put a whole lot but I’ve been down this road before and remember other techs really getting in there looking around with wand.
