Pregnancy plus app- baby sizes

Hello ladies, has anyone noticed the information they give on the app seems inaccurate. Or maybe I am missing something? I'm 6 weeks pregnant and it says baby is 1.3mm but in reality is only around 3-4mm. When you look at each week they seem to be adding a whole cm to baby measurements. Why could it be? It could be confusing and worrying for women who go to early scans.

I've found this with a lot of apps.
I use a different app and it says 6 weeks is 0.5cm which is more accurate.
Obviously further on its a lot less accurate anyway but you would think as most babies are the same size that early on, they'd be more accurate

Which one is that, please? I'd rather swap my app for something with reliable info. Thanks for replying :)

The pregnancy + app shows the fetus is 0.5 inches at 6 weeks on my phone

mia2201 · 27/03/2021 09:58

13mm is half an inch. That's 3 times the size of the actual size of the baby.

The sizes/animal comparisons used to make me laugh on there. According to it, at 29 weeks as I am now my baby is the size of a puppy, but a few weeks before it said specifically 'Maltese puppy'🤣
I think they're just rough, I think at my 12 week scan baby was about a week 'behind' the app sizes but perfectly normal :)

I think it depends if it's by week completed or week starting...

mia2201 · 27/03/2021 12:03

Just checked thinking you might be onto something Sunnysideup but still, at 7 weeks the embryo is 9-10mm. I'm only posting this info as a warning as I know a lot of women will be glued to the apps worrying their babies are dangerously behind. Absolutely bizzare the authors of the apps would stick such rubbish data on there...

I use Pregnancy Week By Week. It's a pretty simple app but had everything I want. I've used it with all my pregnancies 😊

@mia2201 yeah i know. It happened to me 😐
I think people need to take those apps with caution. Especially for the early weeks..
