Covid vaccine in pregnancy - did your GP have to sign it off/prescribe it?

Have been invited for my vaccine, I'm 32 weeks pregnant and after lots of research I have decided to take it due to various risks. My midwife is supportive of my decision but doesn't know much about it, my GP doesn't really care and says the vaccine doesn't have anything to do with them.

If I turn up to my appointment will they actually give it to me or will I need to have "permission" to have it? Does anyone have any experience of getting the vaccine in pregnancy please.

Also doesn't make much sense as others on here have had the jab at vaccine centres! I don't really know what to do next.

Are you all in the uk? How are you even getting the vaccine at the moment? I’m under 40
So will be waiting ages 😩

Girlmama3 I had a bmi of over 40 at my booking appointment and have gestational diabetes, which makes me high risk. I had a text inviting me to book.

I was invited due to a previous illness and I’m 15 weeks. Consultant advised le to have it. I was practically marched out of Hammersmith vaccine centre, they just wouldn’t budge. Said they do not vaccinate pregnant women there. Bit stuck now really as can’t get it at my GP’s

Ah, thank you. There are more reports from other countries on how successful it is for pregnant women. Hopefully we’ll follow and start prioritising pregnant women 🤞🏻
