I’m 25 weeks and generally been keeping ok (bar a 2 night stay in hospital because of bleeding at 22). I’m having problems sleeping because of aches and pains though and wondered if anyone had found anything that helped.

It’s not cramp as such, not nearly as painful, but can occur anywhere. Last night it was aching in my arms, wrists, hands, back and thighs and it’s still there this morning. I’m aware I’m quite thirsty but midwife said not to drink more than 3 litres which I’m already drinking. I’ve got magnesium tablets which I’ve taken a couple of times and found I had quite an upset stomach the next day. Anything else worked for people, I’m really 😴!

Can you rest? Sometimes these things are the bodies way of asking you to slow down. I'd say a couple of days of taking it easy might help it settle.

I’ve found that gentle exercise helps me more than doing too little. It seems a bit counter intuitive though so I guess it depends how much you are doing already.

You can get magnesium body lotion that’s ok to use during pregnancy if the tablets aren’t agreeing with you.

Thanks for the suggestions. I’m usually pretty active but have definitely doing less than I normally do. Sometimes I need someone else to suggest resting!

I’ve got hypermobility and suddenly realised earlier that I’m most achey in the muscles around the joints that are most mobile. Cramp seems to be such a common issue I assumed it was that but perhaps I need to speak to the physio.
