I'm so anxious that I'm not actually pregnant!

I had three positive clearblue tests, going by the first day of my last period I am now six weeks pregnant, I have tender breasts, get a little bit of nausea and am very bloated but I can't shake the anxiety that I'm not actually pregnant! Is this normal?

Depends if you are were planning/hoping to be pregnant or not? A positive is VERY rarely wrong, let alone 3!
Book a private scan if you really need even more confirmation. Best of luck.

It was completely unplanned but really happy with the result, it was only when my breasts became tender and I had bloated that I realised I needed to test. Thank you! Smile

I feel the exact same way! I’ll be 6 weeks on Tuesday I think & have had several positive tests, but I still don’t fully believe it. I think until I see the baby on a scan I won’t completely believe it. Logically I know the tests can’t all be false positives but I don’t know that logic really plays a part here! 😊

I told DH not to be cross if I'd made a massive mistake when we went to the first scan. Apart from a missing period and a BFP I had no reason assume I was pregnant.
She's a teenager now :)

I always feel like a bit of a pretender in the first trimester too! If your period hasn't appeared after positive tests you're pregnant so don't worry. You might start getting sickness soon in which case you'll start feeling v v pregnant 🤰🏻

Inkpaperstars · 22/03/2021 01:24

Don’t worry, I will be 38 weeks on Wed and I still feel a bit like this.

FlyNow · 22/03/2021 01:38

I had this throughout my whole pregnancy. It's similar to an intrusive thought, like when you have the thought that you might throw your drink on someone or jump from a high place, even though you wouldn't.

I even had it the night before my cs at 39 weeks, I had this thought I wasn't even pregnant and they'd cut me open and find nothing. Even though I was obviously massive, could feel baby moving and was still vomiting.

100% with both my kids I had this feeling that there was going to be nothing on the scan and that I had imagined it! Friends have expressed the same feeling too, don’t worry it’s so normal. Congrats op xx

I was like this. I was that convinced it was all a big misunderstanding that when I went for my 12 wk scan and a baby appeared in the screen I actually shouted "oh my f*ING god, there's actually a baby in there" much to the sonograohers amusement.

Tbf my dd is now 3 and I still haven't got my head round being pregnant (I was supposedly infertile)

Janxyb · 22/03/2021 06:39

I felt like this with my first. Apart from a couple of positive tests and no period I had no symptoms. I convinced myself that I would go to my 12 week scan and they would tell me nothing was there 😅
I was most definitely pregnant though and my ds is 2 years old now. Try not to worry 💐 xx

Skymum82 · 22/03/2021 06:41

I felt like this too! Wasn't until I saw the baby at the 12 week scan last week that I believed it 😂🤦🏼‍♀️

Rosieposy89 · 22/03/2021 10:24

I was the same, I only did one pregnancy test to confirm pregnancy but there was a bouncy baby at the first scan. Completely normal to worry about this.

Vomadetroit · 22/03/2021 10:26

Extremely normal! Even after scans, hearing the heartbeat, feeling movement etc, I felt like this with all of my babies

Sb96 · 22/03/2021 10:34

Thank you all so much for your responses. It does make me feel better to know that I am not losing it and that it's a normal thing!

I feel like this a lot of the time too! My symptoms come and go and I’ve had no sickness, I’m 10+4 and haven’t had a scan yet. My boobs are very sore though and I look like I have a little bump already! Might just be bloating though haha.

My dating scan is in 2 weeks, the wait is so difficult! Xx

Sb96 · 22/03/2021 12:55

Yeah I think the waiting makes it so much worse! I have been tempted by an early private scan, but then I will take it badly if they can't see anything yet, probably better just waiting it out 😂. So grateful for platform's like this though, speaking to others experiencing similar things definitely helps 😊
