Bump measurement - 29cm (FH) at 29 weeks

I've been to see the midwife today who measured my bump for the first time.

She measured 29cm (FH) and I am 29 weeks. She said I'm in the 90th percentile.

I'm a little confused though because I've read that this stage, the FH should roughly be the amount of weeks pregnant you are, which would make me bang on.

Why am I on the larger side then?

I know it's not very accurate and not relied too much on but was just curious Smile

Thanks!

I always though that too but it seems things have changed. There is another post on here called "accuracy/inaccuracy of fundal height and charts" which includes a chart.
I think they only worry if you start jumping up the centiles as your pregnancy progresses though, you'll be offered a growth scan if that does happen.

You'll have a personalised chart which takes into account things like your height and weight. Look where your fundal height plots on that chart.

Fundal height is only a very very rough approximation. They just want to see growth following a trend line on that growth chart but all sorts of things can affect the measurement: midwife doing the measuring, how full your bladder is, baby's position.., etc etc etc.
