Cold/flu/covid 19 during pregnancy?

Hey,

First pregnancy so I'm a worrier. I've got a very stuffy nose and sore throat. I think it's a cold or the beginning of a flu or even covid 19 who knows nowadays...

Anyone else had any of these during pregnancy? I'm worried it would cause damage to the baby. I am 21 weeks pregnant.

Thank you :)

Could be rhinitis of pregnancy!

Its most likely just a cold, I had a few, totally fine. You can take paracetamol, warm drinks and a saline nasal spray if you can find the type without medication. I used Sterimere, it helped a wee bit.

If you think its covid, you'd better get tested!

I had full-on actual flu when I was 23 weeks pregnant with DD, I felt terrible for 10 days and then had a post-viral chest infection but she was absolutely fine. Your body will look after the baby even if you feel rough..

I second that it could be rhinitis. I’ve felt a little congested almost all pregnancy (24 weeks tomorrow), and it sometimes gives me a sore throat as I’m breathing through my mouth all night

Thank you everyone so much for your comments.... Its a constant worry when your pregnant. Always worried your not doing your upmost to keep your baby safe. Especially when it's your first and you don't have no previous experience to go by... Thank you all SmileFlowers

I had covid in the early pregnancy, it was horrendous but it didn't hurt the baby at all. Try not to worry :)
