Hi all - had a second 20 week scan today as they couldn't get all the images last week and they have said baby has club foot and possible hlhs - hubby is still at work and I'm at a loss what to do next :( feel so totally hopeless.
We should get an appointment with a specialist next week

Hi pinkroseuk just wanted to reach out to you as my daughter, who is now 5, was diagnosed with club foot at her 20 week scan. She had club foot in both feet, very severely, but she has had treatment and it is all corrected now and doesn’t affect her at all. You wouldn’t even know to look at her now. I don’t have any experience of hlhs but if there’s anything you want to know about clubfoot please let me know? It was a big shock for us to get the news at the 20 week scan so I can understand how you must be feeling. Hopefully your husband will be home soon?

Sorry your having to go through this, it must be very stressful.

My nextdoor neighbour/school friend had a club foot, she had quite a lot of surgery when she was small but other than that it never held her back. She wasn't really that into sport but I think that was just her personality rather than her foot.

@Pinkroseuk sorry that you’ve had such news after your scan. I’m glad that you’ve been referred to a specialist. They may well want to do additional US scans or they sometimes do an MRI to look more closely at the baby’s heart. Hope your husband is back soon to support you.

Pressed post too soon. There are lots of surgical options to help manage the heart condition. But is definitely a tough road tie walk. The club feet can sometimes be managed with specialist strapping techniques.

Thankyou all so much for your comments. We are trying to stay positive and pray that Tuesday brings good news. Hubby is more positive than me so is trying to keep me afloat- this is our miracle baby after 4 years of ttc so no matter what happens they are very special
