Positive test but no baby on ultrasound

Hello!

So I found out I was pregnant 2 weeks ago. With 2 clear blue test saying 1-2 weeks and one of the normal ones showing a very faint cross!
My last period was the 24th jan. Although there very irregular. Making me 7 weeks
I went to have a private scan yesterday and they couldn’t see anything, they transfer me to a and e as they suspected a ecpotic pregnancy.
I went to a and e who confirmed I was pregnant with bloods and my bloods where at 800. There was no one who could scan me so I have to go back on Thursday.
But they seem to think it is ecpotic, they did say it could be a cyst on me ovary and the baby is just too small to see yet

Please someone tell me if they’ve been in the same situation or help calm me down

Was the scan internal? If not then hopefully an internal scan will find something.

Unfortunately though, these home pregnancy tests we're all using nowadays that show positive very early are a curse as much as a blessing as sometimes the embryo implants enough to raise your hcg but then it doesn't stick. Without testing most women in this situation wouldn't even know they had been pregnant for a very short time. I had a couple of 'chemical pregnancies' like this.

Fingers crossed for you.

If your periods are very irregular it’s possible it’s just earlier than you think - if they are usually longer than 28 days it’s likely you’re not as far along as your period date suggests. I really hope that’s the case for you. So distressing being left hanging like this and having to wait for answers. Just be vigilant for any severe pain and go back if you’re worried about any symptoms Flowers

If your periods are irregular you need to stop counting from that and assuming you are 7 weeks. That is just an average count and assumes a regular 28 day cycle.
If there any pattern or rough length to your cycles usually, are they just long or random?

I had a similar situation and the baby turned out to be developing but it was such a stressful few weeks! I was actually over 4 weeks behind where LMP dating would put me. First due date for maternity notes was early June and actual dating put it as 13 July.

Unfortunately sometimes these things have good outcomes and sometimes they don’t. You have a higher change of a positive end since you don’t have regular cycles which means you aren’t actually 7 weeks and if you are just under 6 or even less then not seeing anything isn’t unexpected! Are you having a follow up scan?

Thank you for your replies!
The scan was internal from the photo I have attached! My periods are just random due to coming off contraception not so long ago!

They did see something but they are unable to say what it was the women in the private clinic couldn’t say due to not being nhs and just told me to go to a and e!

Yes the hospital said I could stay over night and have a scan first thing or today after noon or Thursday so I’m going back Thursday Due to a work commitment I csnnot get out of!
I’m praying for the best!

I had similar, had to stay in a week as had pain too. Had daily scans and they still couldn't confirm location of pregnancy so had a laproscopy to confirm not ectopic. Turned out all fine, she was in the right place and she's now 2.5!

I'm surprised they wanted to rescan you the next day! That is incredibly early to pick up any changes. It is better that you couldn't go until tomorrow, but usually they do it around a week later.
I waited 3 weeks for mine because I didn't want to go through the same turmoil again and I wanted to be sure a foetus had developed and I could see a heart beat on the followup.

On my first scan all that was seen was a 2mm empty sac, I was devastated but I also had irregular cycles and I was clinging on to that.

I would be cautiously optimistic right now if I was you. There is a chance it isn't viable, but there are a lot of good things on your side too like the bloods and the fact that you know you are probably under 7 weeks.

Good luck tomorrow. They might do more bloods and see if your HCG is doubling if the scan isn't enough just yet xx
