What do/did your breech baby's movements feel like?

I'm currently 29+2 (still plenty of time to turn I know!) but at 28 weeks the MW said baby is breech. For weeks I've felt a hard lump under my right rib and all movement is well below my belly button (fanny daggers and bum daggers too sometimes). Will I know when baby turns? I'm not concerned right now I just want to be able to tell for myself when they turn, I can currently feel their back and bum running right down my tummy!

Your baby might not be breech.
It's hard to tell. I've been determined so many times that mine is breech and at every scan, been head down.
I have a hard bump like you, below my ribs which is actually their bottom.
I also get low down, what I thought were kicks, turns out my baby just has some good punches 😂

I've only had a twin turn breech, all singletons were head down. Only difference I noticed was that my bump felt a lot heavier all of a sudden. She turned somewhere between 32 & 36wk scans to be head to head with her sister and stayed put so I had a cesarean.

I had a breech baby and her head was wedged under my left ribs. the midwives were never 100% sure though and breech was only confirmed with a scan at 36 weeks. I felt most of my movements very low down especially when she had hiccups which I would have thought would have been felt up by her head but no!

My dd was breech at every scan (and I was scanned almost every week from around 24 is weeks) until 36ish weeks. It felt like having a a very hard thing stopping my diaphragm letting me effectively breathe!! I most certainly felt it when she turned and I needed a wee very desperstely shortly after.

@SnooperTrooper12345 I hear what you're saying, I guess you don't really know unless a scan can confirm it but she struggled to find baby's heartbeat and eventually found it up high, said they were back to back aswell so difficult to find! I'll keep bouncing on my ball anyway Smile

All movement was at the front and the bump was very comfortable. No digs in the bladder that I got from my non breech baby.

I had a breech baby, all the way from 29 weeks. His kicks were always low down, like super low "feels like he's kicking me in my lady parts from the inside" low. His head was wedged under my right ribs and when he moved, I could see his back moving all accords my tummy. His head would stay in the same position. When he was bigger, depending on which side he was laying at, half my tummy was "empty", it was so weird! He went transverse a couple of times after 35 weeks, which i thought it was him trying to move head down (I felt like I was going to be torn apart) but he always ended up shifting back to his original position. I never ever had kicks above my belly button, or in the ribs or stomach or anything but boy did his head in my ribs cause sever heartburn and shortness of breath towards the end...

My DD was breech and I was much more comfortable than my friends with non-breech babies. No digs in the bladder etc. Head and feet were both up high. She moved her head a lot but it wasn't uncomfortable. I could also walk and breathe easily all the way up to the end.

I had THE WORST rib pain!!

SunnySideUp2020 · 17/03/2021 09:09

Mine has always been head down at scans and i consistently feel movements on very down low (hands and arms i think), lots of pressure down there when walking and the odd kick in the rib.
I think it is hard to determine position from movements tbh.

I could feel a head under by ribs and a back then a bottom lower down. I woke up one morning maybe 35 weeks and could tell the baby had turned - I could then feel a bottom where the head used to be but it felt noticeably different.

Rutennotou · 17/03/2021 09:56

I'm 35 weeks and baby is breech. Her head is under my ribs on the right hand side. Most movements are on the bottom left, feel like some are right in my pelvis!
