Excuse my spelling! I've got my 12 weeks scan this afternoon and after trawling through all the treads guessing the sex from scan pictures im just wandering if they will tell you what they think it might be or if they'll refuse to say! Not a problem either way I'm just desperate to know!

Thanks!

Mine did! I asked her to have a guess and made it clear I knew it wasn’t 100% and wouldn’t be racing out to buy blue/pink stuff. So she had a guess - and she was right Smile

Wondermule · 16/03/2021 19:24

I would say boy too!

jellydot · 16/03/2021 19:35

Thanks everyone! How can you tell?

Obviously I know it's just a guess!

I didnt get told at my 12 week scan but everybody that looked at it said they thought it was a boy, i had a private scan at 18 weeks so my partners daughter could come and see the baby and we were told it was a boy, we didnt tell anybody until i had my 20 week nhs scan when the sonographer asked us we wanted to know (never admited that i already knew) and she said it was a boy aswell. Your scan looks abit similar to mine and so i would guess your having a boy 💙

Mine had a guess both times (same person) and was right. He knew we were getting the NIPT so would know in a few days.

Boy

ivfbeenbusy · 16/03/2021 20:35

My sonographer had a cheeky guess with my twins at 12 weeks - but it was very obvious one was a boy - didn't need a medical degree to tell me when I was watching the screen - my girl twin the sonographer and his assistant couldn't agree 🥰

Sceptre86 · 17/03/2021 04:50

I agree, I think baby boy x

Oodilallygolly · 17/03/2021 09:54

I think boy

jellydot · 18/03/2021 18:03

Thanks everyone ❤️ is it the nub theory that makes you all think boy? How can you tell I have no idea what I'm looking at 😂😂

Had a private scan at 11 weeks 6 days and they told us the sex.

Hersetta427 · 18/03/2021 18:46

At my 12 week scan with DC2 (at which we saw the top professor at the fetal medical centre in London) he said he was 70% sure it was (another) girl. At the 20 week scan 'she' had grown a Willy.

potatopotato1 · 08/04/2021 15:02

Hi everyone! Thanks so much for all your guesses, thought I would come back and update! I guess you can't really tell at 12 weeks because everyone though boy but it's a girl!! 🎀

No not generally but I asked mine what she thought, because I already knew the sex from having the NIPT test at 10 weeks. She was right.

I have 4 children the oldest is late teens and I found out for each of them at the 12 week scan what sex they were - not sure why so many people are saying they wont do this? This is across 3 different hospitals. they do say "it's unofficial" at this stage and wont put it in your notes but each was happy to tell me their opinion of the sex with those caveats 0 they were all right. A couple of them were actually at 11 weeks.

A girl, Congratulations OP!!!

I’ve always had private scans at 16 weeks too. I’m actually kinda jealous that some people are told at their 12 week scans. They’d never do that where I am! Interesting that you can tell so early though, I didn’t realise that

catnidge · 08/04/2021 16:05

Congratulations! I really can't tell from looking at scan pictures.

I guess it depends on the quality of a the scanner. I was told boy at 12 weeks and that was 20 years ago at the Harris Birth Centre.

jellydot · 08/04/2021 17:26

Thanks everyone I did try to post the pic under my old name but it messed up for some reason! Kind of glad I didn't ask at the 12 week scan though as I'm not sure I would be convinced either way so no point asking really!
