So, im in a weird situation. My 16 weeks appointment was cancelled because it was a heavy snowing that time and the midwife couldn't come to the hospital. Fair enough, I thought she'll phone me days later to reschedule this appointment, as it's actually meant for getting vaccine as well. I read on NHS this can be done later too so Im not worried in that case but she still not phoned me since. Im currently over 21 weeks, I had a scan last week and the sonographer lady told me for next I have to meet with midwife to discuss everything about the scan ect. The thing I don't have an appointment to her just now. I texted her days ago, I usually use text as sometimes is her daysoff and she won't pick up the phone. But still no respond. At this point Im a bit worried I have a midwife who dosen't really in our life and because it is our first wee one I do have several questions I keep googling because I have no one to ask. So when is the next appointment meant to be now? :/

Is there a central contact point that you have? District midwives? Gp? Hospital antenatal booking line? It needs to be booked and won't just be automatic.

For your first baby, you're meant to have your next appointment at 24/25 weeks.

I know the circumstances meant you couldn't do this, but I always make sure I have my next appointment booked when I leave the previous.

I'm sorry you've been left in this predicament!!

Can you not just phone her or call the hospital or midwife unit?

Usually We always sorted the next appointment on the day when we met. Before the last appointment what we never had in the end she already cancelled me for other reason but she did rescheduled with me that's why i thought she will do this again when she got a chance to go in to the hospital...:/ I call the midwife unit to see what they say.. thank you everyone! :)

I saw a midwife at 10 weeks for booking in and the next one was at 28 weeks. My 16 week was cancelled because she was off sick and it was never rearranged.

Definitely chase up with the main midwife unit at the hospital rather than just text the midwife. My midwife told me at 16 weeks that's she's happy for me to text her but she did make it clear that she has a huge number of people under her care (can't remember the number she said but I was gobsmacked!) so if it's something urgent or worrying like a lack of next appointment booked she listed the most appropriate numbers to call under which circumstances. Appointments are made centrally not by the individual midwife (in my trust anyway) so not much point texting the midwife for this.

Next appointment should be 24/25 weeks like a PP said. Hope that helps x

I don't recall anything significant at the 16 week appt. They listened to baby's heartbeat (but that will have been done at your scan too) and were supposed to check urine but I hadn't been given a sample pot so she said to leave it for next time.

So I wouldn't worry about missing it but definitely call to get your next one booked in.
