Best trimmer for intimate parts in pregnancy?

Hi everyone

Sorry this is a bit personal but I seriously can't decide which trimmer to buy to get rid of.. erm downstairs areas.

I really don't want to wax while I'm pregnant because I lost a baby and I'm anxious that it was my waxing that caused an infection. I know that's probably not true, but I just can't wax, up until around 30 weeks or even after birth.

So any good suggestions for good, reliable trimmers?

Thank you in advance
H

Sorry, just to clarify, it's for getting rid of pubic hair, as closely as possible.

I have a braun silk-epil, has a few different attachments. Originally bought to epilate but the trimmer is all I use nowadays.

You could just revert to shaving...I have had to during lockdown although found that using the blades that DH buys are better than ladies ones...5 blade ones although the razor vibrates so gives interesting sensations.

There was a thread a few weeks ago about a hair gel designed for that area that removed all the hair as well. Can't find it just now but will look again.

I know you are sensitive about it but honestly, I just continued waxing as have several of my friends and was fine. I got booked in just before my due date which then lasted me a few weeks as well post partum

Thank you @Normalmumandwife for the recommendation. Is it good? Does the trim last a few days or do you have to use it every day?

@Normalmumandwife yh but with blades you could cut yourself and that can cause issues..
I would just rather trim.
I know waxing is the best, I've been doing it for years myself and have never contracted anything! But pregnancy and waxing just doesn't sit right with me anymore :( I'm just too scared

I do get a few days out of it but I'm blonde which helps. However, I use proper shaving foam (which is a moisturiser as well) and the blades (they are expensive!) it is good and gives a very smooth finish so isn't a lot to keep up with.

I will be glad thought when my beautician reopens so I can go back to a full wax and it lasting weeks!

Normalmumandwife · 14/03/2021 17:23

I've never cut myself using DH blades (not sharing though). They are amazing and I make sure to change them

I've been going for waxes for about 10 years but went when I was about 8 weeks pregnant and found the regrowth so so painful. Everything was very sensitive and sore. I wouldn't recommend shaving for that reason.

I used the wahl bikini trimmer on the shortest setting and that kept the hairs short enough for me.

Wilkinson sword Quattro lady's trimmer. Ignore the razor blade end. The other end does a brilliant job of a close trim.

Depends how fast your regrowth is and how short you like it.

I'm not really bothered by a bit of length so use no more than fortnightly. When bump gets big I give it up as a bad job and go full wild bush because it's not worth the amount of stretching required to keep on top of it lol.

MeadowHay · 14/03/2021 18:13

I do the same as @chunkymenrock it's what I normally do, just trim it fairly short every couple of weeks or so. I shave the rogue hairs around the edges when I can be bothered too. I'm not particularly bothered about any of it though and just do it when I feel like it.

I use a man's babyliss beard trimmer, on the lowest setting. I couldn't wax while pregnant as I had a bulging vein at a rather delicate point.
