How did you feel in early pregnancy?

I'm talking around 5 ish weeks. I just want some reassurance and some positivity from people. I'm 5+2 and I've hardly any symptoms. Only thing is sore boobs but not crazy.
I haven't been hungrier, thirstier, I haven't been weeing more, I'm not that tired... Aren't these the symptoms I should be having a bit by now?

I realise I might sound a bit silly and I might be overthinking this, but as I've miscarried before I can't help but just expect this pregnancy to not progress. My last pregnancy I definitely had a few more symptoms by now. I have a long way to go until I hit 12 weeks so I would just love some positive words, and a little bit of clarity that this might be normal for some.

Thanks for reading! X

First of all, congratulations. Every pregnancy is different. In one symptoms only hit me at 7 weeks, others at 6 weeks. My mum didn’t have any nausea or sickness in any of her 4 pregnancies.

It really does depend.

Conundrum12345 · 12/03/2021 15:07

Everyone is different. I'm 7+4 and just had very mild nausea at 5 weeks.

Now I'm very nauseous, vomiting and very tired (thank god I'm working from home, cos I've had 2 naps already todayBlush)

Coming up to 7 weeks was when I noticed a real shift. My boobs never really hurt, just when I was taking off my bra

Moominmiss · 12/03/2021 15:09

Please don’t worry, no symptoms, lots of symptoms, it’s are perfectly normal. As are symptoms that come and go.

I only had very mildly tender breasts initially. I had slight, very slight nausea in the evenings from 6 weeks or so.

And only now I’m past 12 weeks am I finding I’m needing to wee more.

I know what the anxiety is like having suffered 4 miscarriage s last year, but symptoms aren’t necessarily an induction of whether it will be a successful pregnancy anyway, my first mc at 9 weeks I had all the symptoms going! I still lost that pregnancy.

Try not to panic! Think of yourself as one of the lucky few that aren’t suffering yet.
Plus it’s still early and you may well find that things ramp up over the next week or so!

Congrats!

Sorry for all the typos 🤦🏼‍♀️

@lolateddy congratulations! Such awesome news for you :-)

This is going to be so hard for you to do, but please try not to worry.

My last pregnancy (ended in MC) I knew immediately after implantation because I felt like I'd been hit by a truck! I had ALL the symptoms after that.

This time around, I have felt barely anything throughout my entire pregnancy! The first trimester, other than a bit of tiredness, I would have had no idea I was pregnant had I not had a BFP and no period. It is perfectly normal to not have all the symptoms you read other women have. It's also perfectly normal for your pregnancies to differ greatly.

The second trimester, I was full-of beans and still not having tonnes of symptoms. The biggest things for me were (are) heartburn and crying at nothing 😂

You are going to feel terribly anxious this entire pregnancy. My advice to you, lean into it and allow yourself to feel what you're feeling. As long as you're not bleeding, you're still pregnant and everything is ok. Even if you have to take it day-by-day.

One thing that helped me, was breaking it down into chunks: 8-weeks heartbeat, 12-weeks scan, 20-weeks scan, 28-weeks kicks, etc.

Trust your body, trust your instincts, but try not to compare this pregnancy with past experiences or other people's pregnancies -- honestly you'll drive yourself bonkers :-)

Chanel05 · 12/03/2021 15:59

Congratulations!
From 6 weeks I had hideous nausea all day long until 16 weeks. Didn't have sore breasts at all at any point.

Parkandride · 12/03/2021 16:03

Apart from lack of periods I wouldn't have known anything until kicks at 22 weeks, try to enjoy it (though I understand wishing for symptoms at that early stage!)

eensyweensySpider · 12/03/2021 16:23

Please try not to worry. I practically had 0 symptoms. I was quite tired on some days no matter how much I slept, my sore(ish) boobs were coming and going, mostly non existent and they never got any bigger, I never felt sick or vomited even once. But it did feel like my period was going to come on any minute (cramps & backache) and I was constantly terrified and kept knicker checking every 10 minutes. It was exhausting.

I had such an uneventful pregnancy, I honestly only started feeling pregnant when I started to show after 20 weeks and started feeling kicks. Every one is different, try and enjoy that you are not too poorly and congratulations Thanks

Pumpkinpied · 12/03/2021 16:33

Sick, very very sick. It was the first symptom. I had HG with all three and it lasted until each DC was born. No other symptoms.

MintGreenLife · 12/03/2021 16:42

@lolateddy I didn’t have many symptoms throughout my first trimester. I’m 19+5 now ☺️

Hufflypuf · 12/03/2021 16:46

Hi @lolateddy. I am 7+4 today and don't have any symptoms whatsoever. I had an early scan at 6 weeks due to bleeding (all good, they could see a flickering heartbeat!) and I mentioned to the midwife about my lack of symptoms. She said to only be concerned if you have symptoms then they suddenly stop. Apparently having no symptoms does not increase the chances of miscarriage. Good luck with your pregnancy Smile

EssentialHummus · 12/03/2021 16:55

I’ve had three pregnancies, absolutely no pattern to symptoms/lack of symptoms/viability.

lolateddy · 12/03/2021 17:54

Thank you so much for all reassuring me,
I'm so up and down! One minute I feel fine, the next minute I feel worried and can't control my thoughts or fears and end up crying! Lol.
I guess that's another symptom I have... raging mood swings.

Hello Op, how have you been? I'm 5w2 pregnant after a mmc in December and the lack of symptoms worry me so much. I previous pregnancy i had stretching cramps, bigger boobs and increased discharge. This time round absolutely nothing. Booked myself for an early scan as i can already tell the 12 weeks will feel like a hundred years already! ;) Praying and hoping for our rainbows 🙏 all the best x
