Hi there
I'm not sure what I'm looking for really but I'm panicking by myself.
I just went to the loo and found pink spotting, I know it can be common, probably not worth waking my partner up but that doesn't stop me lying awake worrying.
This is my first pregnancy, I'm 39 so feel like I don't have that many chances.
Can anyone with a bit more experience give me any info or reassurance?
Thanks

Hi lovely, I’ve had the same thing this week. I was referred to my local EPAU for a scan the same day to check, I’m a couple weeks behind you so they couldn’t see anything wrong but also couldn’t tell me all was ok. At 8 weeks you’d be able to see a heartbeat etc, I’d give your GP a call x

Hi Magenta, I'm in a similar situation. I'm 5+5 and went to the loo this morning and had some brown blood when I wiped. I've had a bit more dark red blood since, but not much... I called my GP and they said to sit tight, take lots of fluids and rest. If I vomit, get a fever or experience severe pain, flooding or passing clots I need to call them back. Otherwise I'm too early for a scan to check if everything is okay. She advised that I do another pregnancy test in a week or so to check. At 8 weeks, they should be able to refer you for a scan if you're concerned. Definitely worth giving them a call for reassurance. Wishing you all the very best of luck and keeping everything crossed for both of us. I hope you managed to get some sleep in the end x

Hi, I had 3 lots of spotting from 5.5weeks and 6.5weeks, after the third time was a but heavier I called the doctors and agreed a scan that early could cause more worry. I started with pain at 8weeks and had an emergency scan and all wad ok with baby, pain was due to a fibroid and then at 9weeks I started bleeding, it was when I woke up so had built up a bit so when I went to toilet it was pouring out. Thankfully I had my midwife appointment that morning and when she saw the pad sent me to hospital for another scan, all was well with baby, the sonographer said the bleed wasn't from in the womb. I am now 17 weeks and I haven't had any bleeding or spotting since week 9.

Call your GP or midwife, as you are 8 weeks they should be able to send you for a scan. Keeping everything crossed for you!

Thanks everyone for the support, it's been lovely.
I spoke to the GP who told me to rest and see because there wasn't a lot and I had no pain.
I went for a private scan this morning and saw the heartbeat, she thinks I am 8+5 and everything looked good.
I should be able to sleep tonight at last.
Thanks again x
