Pregnancy or covid symptoms

I'm 17 weeks pregnant, student nurse. Not directly exposed to covid but working in a hospital there's always that heightened risk.

I have a head cold, it's lasted 3 days so far. Stuffy nose, headache and generally feeling like crap. Breathless at times but I've had that since early pregnancy, taste and smell effected but likely due to blocked nose

However I'm also emotional and remember headaches/emotional feelings at this stage in my last pregnancy.

Would you do a covid test?

I mentioned it to DH who blew up and said I'm fine, I have hayfever and I don't need to test.

Now I'm in bed with a headache crying.

Posting for advice and mostly posting because I'm an emotional wreck and sick of feeling poorly

I think it's most likely to be pregnancy related, those all sound like very common symptoms. If yo work in a hospital surely you can request a rapid test if that would set your mind at ease?

No harm in getting tested. Would also put your mind at rest

P.s. if it is hayfever related then there are sprays and antihistamines you can use during pregnancy

My trust won't allow students to take part in the rapid testing, especially because I'm on a green ward Sad

I definitely need to buy hayfever products, if it is hayfever I can't carry on like this for the rest of my pregnancy.

I'm going to take myself for a PCR for reassurance.

I feel dreadful, really stuffy tension headache

You describe all my covid symptoms! Quite possible you have it.

PullingAtTeeth · 11/03/2021 11:05

That could certainly be covid. I’m pregnant too and when I had covid in January my main (only) symptoms were a head cold/headache, sinus pain and nausea.
Definitely get a test.

I'll get a test today, I'd text my manager for advice and she said she had covid in jan and the only symptom she had was mild cold symptoms but strong headaches
