Hey guys, I’ve got hyperemesis, on medication, gone to er, ketones in urine the whole shabam. Currently I have stopped vomming on meds, I’m 10 weeks, still nauseas always.

Please can anyone give me hope that their hyperemesis eased off at around 14 weeks? I only hear the horror stories and need some hope!

Thanks

I stopped being sick around 20 weeks but still have nausea at 23 weeks x

Hi, I was very ill and had to take 6 weeks off work, on meds, hospital etc. Sounds much the same as you. A couple of days into my 14th week I felt so much better. I'm still in the 14th week and I'm not 100% but I'm planning to go back to work next week and I can eat proper food now.

When I was in the worst of it I felt like it would never end and can't believe the difference now. Hopefully it stays this way for me and fingers crossed it clears up for you soon!

I was extremely ill and off work until 14 weeks. Suddenly, bang on 14 weeks I woke up feeling only minor sickness. It was gone by 16. Good luck OP x

What meds are you on? I stopped being sick half way through 1st pregnancy. The second I had ondansetron and that was a game changer. Wasn't sick when on it, but would be any time I forgot to take. Right up to the end.

Thanks for your responses guys!

It’s really great to hear @NotEver0 @Alicespring @catgamerlady @Lemming20 I appreciate you answering.

@DennisTMenace I’m on cyclazine and ondansetron 3 x a day which has made a huge difference. Am hoping to get off them at some stage but we will see

Hi, last time I started seeing improvement around 12 weeks. Came off my meds a few weeks after that. Went back to work on 50 per cent hours at 18 weeks although I was still being sick a few times a day and full time from 20 weeks but with flexi time so I could start late as I still vomited if I woke up early in the mornings. By about 24 weeks it was virtually completely gone but I did have random odd wobbles right til the end of my pregnancy but they were just odd days or associated with exhaustion or travel. This time I'm 10 weeks and expecting a similar time frame if not better as I haven't been as ill as first time around (no hospitalisations and already eating better than a few weeks ago). Good luck!

@MeadowHay thanks for your honest and detailed description I appreciate it. I knew there would be stories out there like this, I just kept hearing the horror ones. Thank you :)
