Fetal measurements on low side

Hi all,

I am 20w+6 pregnant with my first baby. I had my 20 week scan last week and all seemed good - but in my records some of the fetal measurements seem small and I'm not sure whether this is completely normal or if there's anything I need to be worried about.

2/6 measurements that we got (biparietal diameter and femur length) are bang on the mean but the others are all on the lower end of the scale, especially abdominal circumference which makes me a bit concerned as there are lots of important organs etc there...

I am assuming if there was anything majorly wrong the ultrasonographer would have said something, but just want to see if this has been anyone else's experience?

I can give the measurements if this is helpful. TIA!

Just think of it in the way that nobody is the same size.
Same applies for babies 😊

As I understand it if the dot is inbetween then it’s normal. And they’d tell you if there was anything to be concerned about as you’d need to go back in for more scans x

@SnooperTrooper12345 yes that's a good way to think of it! Thank you Smile

@katiemumma20 you're right if there was anything serious I'm sure they would have said something, thank you Smile

Like the other PPs said, they would have told you if there was anything to worry about. Baby has a lot of growing to do still and we all come in different shapes and sizes.

Nothing at all to worry about. I remember asking my midwife this because my LO seemed to have a small head circumference from the look of the scale. I think anything within that scale is normal.
