6 days late and faint line

Hi all , as the heading suggests , I'm 6 days late and this afternoon got a faint line on a test. It wasnt the first urine of the day , so I'm wondering if that explains why the line is so faint. I'm going to test again and see if I can get a stronger line before making contact with my doctor. Does anyone know how long I should wait? This is my first time dealing with this and when I mentioned the faint line to my friend she recommended retesting but didnt know how long I should wait. Sorry if it's a stupid question!

Testing later in the day could well be the explanation especially if you were well hydrated. 1st morning urine is often best as it's more concentrated. Though 6 days late you would expect a strong line whatever time of day but if you are a late ovulator you could be slightly behind on dates than lmp would put you.
I keep testing weekly until I pass 6wk (history of chemical pregnancies) then do self referral to the midwife team via the hospitals website (go via GP if your trust doesn't do this).

A faint positive is still a positive so congratulations.

@Chelyanne yes my ovulation can vary a bit and i think in my trust we self refer and I dont want to do that without a strong positive just incase I'm seeing things or if its chemical. I will give it a few days and check again.

I agree with Pp. Do it tomorrow morning.

Once I've got a positive, I don't retest. I wait until after 6 weeks to contact the doctor though just to make sure
