Symptoms ease at 9 weeks? Getting my hopes up for no reason?

I'm 9+4 and I've noticed although I still feel nauseous it's maybe not lasting as long/as strong as it has been. Is it common for symptoms to start to ease around now? Or should I expect them to come back with a vengeance Sad

I'm 9+1 today and definitely feel like my symptoms are getting more on and off, although I did actually vomit for the first time last night after 3 weeks of bad nausea!

Yep, all those early symptoms tend to phase out at this stage. And no it probably won't come back . Most women have seen the end of it by 12 weeks so you are coming to the end now. Good luck !

Around 9/10 weeks the placenta starts taking over and symptoms do start to ease a bit.

Oh god, I really hope so! I have a vomit phobia so these past 6 weeks have been so tough mentally and physically. I've read a few people saying around now is just a lull and then it comes back, I'm hoping and praying it's the beginning of the end! x

Mine starting easing just after 9 weeks, I'm now 11 weeks and they've pretty much disappeared except for tiredness.

I continued to throw up daily until 15 weeks in both my pregnancies - hopefully that won’t happen to you!

Have you not been sick since 9 weeks then? x
Springingintospring · 06/03/2021 18:05

In my experience overall it peaks at about 9 weeks. However along that trajectory there are stints of good days and stints of bad. It's a rocky road!
Fingers crossed you continue to feel better.

crobo87 · 06/03/2021 18:10

@takemebackto2003 yes I've been sick on & off since 9 weeks. Only been sick twice in the last week. I was sick every morning up until 9 1/2 weeks x

crobo87 · 06/03/2021 18:14

Probably been sick about half a dozen times in the last 2 weeks. Definitely reduced and even more so this week. It's my nausea than sickness now.

When were you first sick? Quite early on? x
crobo87 · 06/03/2021 18:40

@takemebackto2003 from about 5 weeks I think x

Both times my (constant) nausea and tiredness peaked at 8-9 weeks then got slowly better with some goodish days. It was mostly better st 12 weeks and gone at 15-16 weeks. I think you've turned a corner :) I'm also emetaphobic.

Symptoms come and go, some don't get them at all. They don't mean anything. But as you head further towards the second trimester, they generally start to ease off as your placenta takes over.
