Sorry for the wanky title! Grin

I'm 4+4 with DC2 today Smile have had some nausea on and off the last few days but don't feel too bad overall!

I'm finding that I need something to focus on - feels like this will be the longest pregnancy ever, and I'm currently furloughed until non-essential opens up again. So I'm concentrating on generally taking care of myself.

I'm trying to plan some healthy meals, plenty of fruit and veg, and get myself and DC1 out every day for a 30 min walk. Not only do I want to take care of myself and baby, I'm aware that I'm about a stone heavier than I was at this point in my first pregnancy, so would like to regulate my weight and keep to a healthy gain if possible Smile

Anyone else the same?

Congratulations!

I'm exactly the same! I will be 15 weeks tomorrow and since found out at 3 weeks I have been making sure I'm eating loads of fruit and veg, cut out caffeine and sugar and have been going on a walk in the morning and after work.

I have actually lost a stone. Started out at 12st 6 and now 11st 5.

My reasons were because we had a miscarriage back in October so are trying to do everything we can to stay as healthy as possible.

CaliRanch · 01/03/2021 11:21

Yes me. I got my first positive yesterday followed by another today so I’m finally in the pregnancy club. Prior to this I was trying to get back in shape and focus on being healthy so now I have an even better reason to focus on it.

I have a 3yr old who’s got health conditions so it’s especially important to me to be healthy going forward.

Currently snacking on apples and blueberries

Chelyanne · 01/03/2021 11:37

In the 1st trimester I was terrible with food due to nausea. Now 15+6 and back to cooking from scratch more and reducing the junk. Kept up my exercise routine through the nausea though which was tough. I powerlift so had to reduce the weight I lift and stopped doing paused reps day, comfortably maintaining most lifts at 75%-80% but squats are down to 50kg which is a little over 60% of what I was doing the day I got BFP.
I was an intermittent faster pre-pregnancy doing 20-22 hours a day with occasional 2 day fasts, do no more than 14 hours between meals now if I don't feel hungry, I break fast early if I am hungry.

I'm currently 12+5 and trying really hard to eat healthier and move more. I was doing workouts 4x a week and stopped when I found out I was pregnant at new year. Recently started going for 20-30 min jogs again.

I had nausea until around 1-2 weeks ago so struggled to eat any fruit/veg. But the past couple I have been able to eat anything so that's a relief.

Determined not to balloon as I've always been slim and this is my 1st pregnancy (following a MMC) so want it to be as positive as possible.

Analysethat · 01/03/2021 11:57

I started off with the best of intentions but the further on I got the more I went off everything healthy. I do try to eat as best as I can but my body just craves everything unhealthy. Good luck to those that can anything 😀

ChelseaCat · 01/03/2021 11:57

Not me - I feel too rubbish 😭 (8+2)

I’m eating my body weight in carbohydrates

ILoveBountys · 01/03/2021 12:12

Wanky title Grin haha

I'm also feeling too nauseous and my taste is changing every 5 minutes but the 1 thing I have gone off entirely is vegetables!
I usually love them.
DH is doing great at sneaking them in/ keeping meals as healthy as possible (I can't stand the smell of cooking right now) but I'm definitely not getting enough. Hopefully it will change in the 2nd trimester.

I'm 8+5 and I am walking A LOT though to try to make up for it because bloating has already tipped my BMI to 30 (lockdown weight gain that I was trying to lose - weep!) so need to keep my weight under control.

I hope you don't get this dreaded nausea/ food aversion & get to stay on track :) xx

Ronnii · 01/03/2021 12:29

I've been trying to be. I been eating healthy while TTC and now I'm 6 weeks I've completely gone off food. No nausea but I can't bring my self to eat a meal, just about nibbling here and there right now.

Ronnii · 01/03/2021 12:31

@ILoveBountys same I can't even bring myself to cook like a always do, my partner doesn't cook so it's not great. All the veg from my last shop is just getting old in the fridge 😬

Chelyanne · 01/03/2021 12:47

@ILoveBountys I couldn't stand cooking either, 5 kids to feed and hubby military so not here to help most of the time. I swapped to more convenience foods that I could leave in the oven and go fight the nausea in the living room. The smell of chicken was the worst for me and we eat a lot of that. Once I hit the 2nd trimester it started to ease and now I can cook all dishes without feeling bad.
Thankfully I could always stomach my fruit and veg but became a right carb loader, my weight shows it too!

yellowbeaker · 01/03/2021 12:55

I am living off potatoes at the mo. I am 9+2. As soon as I feel up to it I will be good again. Also loving curries at the mo so when I can keep that down I am packing it with loads of veg.

ILoveBountys · 01/03/2021 12:58

@Ronnii haha, same - we've had to start shopping every-other-day because I was throwing away so much veg and I hate waste! It's so hard; I feel so guilty that DH has too cook all the time now.
Like @Chelyanne we get convenience food sometimes or 'Simply Cook' packs so that he gets a bit of a break. Is that an option for you?
What is with this aversion to cooking?!

Cheyenne; 5 kids?? Wow! Superhero :)
I am praying that this eases off in the 2nd trimester. I need to eat some veg. Right now it's carbs too - and sugar - for me so I dread to think what I'll look like if this doesn't stop soon! Grin

Inmypjsagain · 01/03/2021 13:00

I tried to be super healthy but I basically couldn’t keep anything down- I couldn’t be around the smell of vegetables and had no meat. I really was living off Philadelphia sandwiches and Diet Coke, water made me vomit instantly (which just seems ridiculous) which I was so upset about, I figured better to eat something unhealthy than nothing... so if food aversions knock you off the healthy course don’t panic!!

I’m nearly 17 weeks and still suffering with nausea and aversions, I can’t imagine ever eating a vegetable again but I eat a lot of fruit!

Chelyanne · 01/03/2021 13:16

@ILoveBountys thankfully it's not a problem anymore and I have no aversion (that I didn't have pre-pregnancy). I couldn't stomach my protein shakes either which was not great as I had trouble getting enough protein in. We now have 1 take away a month to give me a break from cooking. I'm not looking forward to the 3rd trimester heartburn again, hopefully will not be quite as bad with this singleton as it was with our twins.

You'll get over it eventually, fingers crossed it's the 2nd trimester for you, many struggle until after birth.

Rosieposy89 · 01/03/2021 13:41

Congratulations. I started out with this intention when I found out I was pregnant, then nausea hit me at 6 weeks alongside food aversions so now I'm trying to eat what I can. I'm taking a pregnancy vitamin so I figure all will be okay.

BabyBooDueNov21 · 01/03/2021 15:57

Wow a lot of you suffering with sickness! I've had nauseous on and off a little but not too bad (and hoping that it continues like that, we'll see...)

I hope you're all feeling better soon!

Thanks for now and Cake for when you feel up to it later Grin

ILoveBountys · 01/03/2021 16:27

Thanks @Chelyanne! Hopefully it at least settles enough for me to eat some veggies Grin

I've had heartburn in the first trimester... it's all fun & games physically isn't it?! Ah well, all worth it.

Ronnii · 01/03/2021 16:39

Yep I'm off to the shops now to buy some easy food, something to just put in the oven. I can manage fruit so I'm hoping that keeps me healthy enough.
