Covid restrictions, doulas and birthing partners

Am I right in thinking that most UK hospitals are only allowing one birthing partner, if any at at all, during birth, so if a woman had her partner (spouse) there, she could not also have a doula? Has anyone had a different experience? Were the restrictions eased last summer as the virus improved? I am giving birth in August and my hospital doesn't have info about this listed on their website. Thanks x

I think you'd have to contact your hospital as each one has different rules

I would speak to your midwife. I'm due in July and the guidance at my local hospital has changed multiple times since my booking appointment in December.

Every trust is different but at the moment I haven’t heard of anywhere that would allow you to have both present. But by August that might be really different, and it might change more than once in between now and then. I think you will just have to keep in touch with your hospital nearer the time.
