Painful red blotch on sole of foot

Hello, I’ve just woken up with a pain in my foot, just having a look now and there’s this red patch, it’s flat and just red but really really painful to touch, it’s just the one on the sole of my left foot, I’m 12 weeks and 5 days pregnant, what could this be? Should I be concerned?

Looks like a bite to me as well! Do you mean your ankle rather than your sole or do you have another one on your sole?

I agree. Bites can be painful instead of itchy sometimes, especially if it’s on a bone. That’s definitely an ankle not the sole of your foot. The sole would be more worrying I think as not sure bites tend to happen there.

Hi thanks guys, it’s definitely not a bite as it’s not raised or itchy at all it’s flat and just red and really painful to touch! I’ve had plenty of bites in my time from gnats (they love me) and this isn’t one, no it’s definitely on the sole of my foot it’s in the arch by my heel.

Oh yes I was looking at the photo differently! Thought your sock was the cuff of your trousers 😂 I see it now. I’m out of ideas unless you could have just stepped on something without realising! If it was me I would wait for a few days to see if it goes down xx

Thanks guys! Yeah I did take the pic at an awkward angle haha, it’s still here now so I’ll wait until the middle of the week now and if it’s still there I’ll ask the midwife if she knows anything about it. Thank you! X

I wouldn't ask the midwife, it's not pregnancy related.

Why would that be pregnancy related? I'd ask a pharmacist not your midwife.

Okay I won’t ask the midwife then 😂 I’m new to all this obviously, sorry I shouldn’t have said midwife, I’ll ask the gp or pharmacist instead
