Can peeing over the max line on a one step test cause a false positive

I did a test yesterday (9dpo) but managed to get pee everywhere.... it showed positive line (I had held my pee for 10 hrs) Because I hadn't used it correctly I squeezed out another pee and retested but with that 2nd one, no line. I tried again this morning (10dpo) but no line.

Has anyone experienced a false positive in this way?

It does make it invalid.

You'd be better off peeing in a pot and dipping it for however many seconds it says to.

Much harder to get accurate results by actually peeing onto the stick

ok thanks. I will try again tomorrow morning
