Waiting for a follow up viability scan after empty sac

I had a TV scan Sunday which showed a 12.9mm sac but nothing in it- no yolk etc. I dated myself 6W5, technician said 6W3 by LMP and google says sac size is more like 6w1D.
The scan was at a private, high street place (which I used without issue in first pregnancy although only from 8 weeks) and the tech said come back in 12 days to see if it's a viable pregnancy- I'll be exactly 8w then from tech's LMP calculations. I have a tilted uterus but it didn't cause any issues with scans in my first pregnancy- I just had to have more done TV.
I know in the pit of my stomach it's likely a blighted ovum.
The wait is just insufferable though.
Anyone else in a similar situation and wants to wait it out together?

I've never had a scan that early. Tbh they are not a good idea unless there is bleeding as you often don't see much, dates can be off if you ovulate later than expected. I wouldn't lose hope just yet and wait to see how things develop on your next scan. Good luck.

I've had early scans in 2 pregnancies, both around 8wk by lmp. One showed twins 6 days behind lmp with hb's, they caught up on growth by their dating scan. Other baby measured 7+4wk with hb which was also 6 days behind lmp, mc that one a week later.

Thanks @Chelyanne- ironically I went for the scan for 'reassurance'... If it is a blighted ovum though I would rather know now than think everything was fine and go along to the 12 week scan to then be hit by the bad news as I haven't had any bleeding or cramping and it seems quite a lot of blighted ovums don't spontaneously abort even as far up to 12 weeks. Mother nature can be cruel.

So sorry for your loss of your baby- I hope you are doing ok now.

I am pretty sure of when I ovulated as I was using OPKs- but you're right that ovulation could still fall a day or so after we think and then fertilisation can take a day or so longer than we think as sperm can live for a few days inside the body. Time will tell- but I think my sac measurements being pretty in line with where LMP says I should be means chances are very slim. Everything I've read said the yolk sac is visible from 5.5 weeks and the sac measured 6w1-3d depending on which medical journal source you go by.
