Spotting through early pregnancy

Hi everyone!

This is my first post on mumsnet as I could really do with some advice from seasoned experts (or just a virtual hug). I am 7.5 weeks through my first pregnancy so I know I'm probably over sensitive and heightened to all of the changes that are happening within my body right now.

10 days ago I noticed some spotting when wiping after the loo, after 3 days I started experiencing some cramping so after speaking with the doctor was sent for an early scan. The scan confirmed all was well and I was lucky enough to catch a glimpse of a tiny heartbeat which put my mind at rest. The light bleeding has continued to now my 10th day however after a fumble with my husband this morning (no intercourse) I noticed a larger amount of red blood on the toilet paper. This concerned me slightly so I called the midwife who explained that this can be a common thing in early pregnancy and not to worry, she obviously advised that if bleeding started to get worse or cramps started to go to the hospital.

At week 3 I had very light spotting for 7 days which I mistook for a light period! After our positive test result I put this down to implantation bleeding.

Has anyone experienced anything similar? My midwife joked that it could be a sign of more than one baby and my husband nearly collapsed haha!
