Hi so I took a pregnancy test last week and it showed positive worked out to be about 5 weeks from my last period but I’m having strange like kick feelings in my stomach which I can see also if I lie flat. I have had maybe lighter periods the past few months around the time I would normally be due but is it possible I could be further on than I originally thought or are these feelings something different 🤷‍♀️ I don’t have my first midwife appointment for about 3 weeks

I don’t you think you’d feel anything like kicking until about 16 weeks so you’d have to be really far on.

wimbler · 19/02/2021 16:34

you wouldn't start to see kicks from the outside until around 20 weeks at the earliest

Thank you see I was thinking that it’s my 3rd pregnancy so know about when I should feel them it’s just strange I can’t think of anything else it could be unless I am further along than originally thought but that would mean I have still had periods and didn’t think that was possible 🤣

Gas?

BananaCustard85 · 19/02/2021 16:37

Wow must be disconcerting. Looking back, have you had any other symptoms? Like sickness, feeing tired, sore boobs etc? I started feeling mine about 17wks. I'm 20wks now and have only seen them kick once, when I was in the bath. Is it your first baby? Just asking as if it's not you might feel movements sooner.

BananaCustard85 · 19/02/2021 16:38

Oh sorry cross post there.

Meadzy88 · 19/02/2021 16:38

I have had some sickness and feeling tired but put that down to other things before I found out I was pregnant

Can you call your midwife and ask about it?

I think some women do get period-like bleeding in pregnancy

"Women who report having periods during an otherwise normal pregnancy are usually experiencing a phenomenon that is sometimes called decidual bleeding, in which a small part of the uterine lining might shed for the first few months of early pregnancy at the time that the woman would otherwise have had her period."

No idea how common this is!

It's gas, I feel strong rumbles when I lie down. The morning sickness will come soon!

Meadzy88 · 19/02/2021 16:49

Thank you I will call the drs on Monday I don’t have the midwifes number yet it just feels so strange definitely not like any gas I have had before 🤣

My mum had periods throughout her pregnancy with me & I’m a twin so it can happen! Obviously kicks aren’t usually felt so early on but it’s possible you could be further ahead! Best of luck x

Meadzy88 · 19/02/2021 18:13

Thank you I’m kind of hoping that I am further on now less time to wait and less time for my other 2 to pester me about when the baby is coming 🤣
